We all know that the human taste organs are very important to the human body. If the human body loses its sense of taste, everything it eats will be tasteless, like chewing wax. Some people even refuse to eat because they have no sense of taste. The most obvious sign of losing the sense of taste is that the taste in the mouth will become increasingly bland, which is what we often call a tasteless mouth. Everything you eat tastes bland. So what is better to eat if your mouth has no taste? A bland mouth refers to a reduced sense of taste, a feeling of blandness in the mouth and an inability to taste food. It is more common in the initial stage or recovery stage of inflammation, and is more common in enteritis, dysentery and other digestive system diseases. It is also seen in the recovery stage after major surgery. Patients with endocrine diseases, long-term fever and wasting diseases, malnutrition, vitamin and trace element zinc deficiency, insufficient protein and calorie intake often have a bland mouth, because these diseases can reduce the sensitivity of the tongue taste buds and cause a bland mouth. In addition, a bland taste in the mouth and a weakened or even absent sense of taste are also characteristics of cancer patients. Therefore, when middle-aged and elderly people experience a sudden decrease or disappearance of their sense of taste for unexplained reasons, they should be highly alert to the possibility of cancer. Of course, this should be distinguished from the situation in the elderly where the taste buds degenerate, the teeth are incomplete (even if they have dentures, the jawbone has different degrees of atrophy), which leads to insufficient chewing, or even swallowing, and the food cannot fully contact the taste buds, resulting in a loss of taste. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that a bland taste in the mouth and a lack of appetite for food are usually caused by a weak spleen and stomach following an illness, resulting in impaired digestion and metabolism. It is often accompanied by symptoms such as loss of appetite, weakness in the limbs, chest distension, and pale tongue with white coating. Normally, you can eat some appetizers, such as hawthorn, plum, tangerine peel, etc. to stimulate appetite; in terms of fruits, strawberries and sweet oranges have a certain appetizer effect, while grapes, bananas, lychees, etc. may reduce appetite due to their high sugar content; condiments can be selected from tomato sauce, curry sauce, bean paste, chili sauce, etc., but they should not be too "stimulating" to avoid overcorrection. Avoid or limit the use of fried foods, leeks, raw soybeans, creamy foods, sweet carbonated drinks, etc. |
