Pubic arch angle

Pubic arch angle

Everyone knows where the pubic bone is located in the human body. It is a protruding bone between the lower abdomen and lower body. I don’t know if you have noticed that the pubic bone on your body has a certain curvature, but due to its location, most people don’t know much about it. So what is the normal curvature of the pubic bone?

1. What is the pubic arch angle?

The normal angle of the pubic arch is about 90°, and it is abnormal if it is less than 80°; its curvature and angle reflect the size of the pelvic outlet. To measure the angle of the pubic arch, place the fingertips of your left and right thumbs together diagonally on the lower edge of the pubic symphysis. Place your left and right thumbs flat on the descending ramus of the pubic bone and measure the angle between the two thumbs.

2. 7 necessary conditions for normal childbirth

1. Appropriate age

For first-time mothers, giving birth between the ages of 25 and 29, there is a greater chance of a normal birth. Avoid having children after the age of 35.

2. Fetal size

A normal-sized fetus can be delivered smoothly through a normal pelvis, but a macrosomia has a relatively large head, and the fetal head may become "stranded" at the entrance of the pelvis, making it difficult to pass through the pelvis and necessitating a cesarean section.

3. Regular prenatal check-ups

Pregnant women should have regular prenatal checkups to detect problems early, correct them and treat them as soon as possible, so that the pregnant woman and the fetus can go through pregnancy and delivery smoothly. Regular antenatal check-ups are essential for a smooth delivery.

4. Birth canal

The birth canal refers to the "passage" during the baby's delivery. It is mainly determined by the size and shape of the pregnant woman's pelvis. Of course, the pregnant woman's soft birth canal is also very important. Any abnormality in either of them will cause dystocia. Therefore, it is important to do prenatal check-ups during pregnancy so that doctors can detect problems in time and choose the correct method of delivery. If any problems with the birth canal are found during the prenatal examination, the patient must be admitted to the hospital in advance and undergo a cesarean section at an appropriate time.

5. Productivity

The most important factor in labor force is the contraction force of the uterine muscles, which can force the fetus and placenta out of the uterus. Normal uterine contractions have a certain rhythm and gradually increase as delivery approaches. Uterine contractions that are too weak or too strong may cause dystocia.

6. Fetal position

The fetus's own condition during labor is also important. If the baby's position in the pregnant woman's uterus is abnormal, such as breech position, transverse position, etc., or the baby grows too large in the uterus, or there are malformations such as conjoined fetuses, these situations will affect the normal delivery process and cause dystocia. Therefore, it must be discovered early and dealt with in time.

7. Maternal psychology

If a pregnant woman is not mentally prepared for the "challenges" she will face during childbirth, or is overly afraid of the childbirth process and cannot cooperate well with the doctor, it will be difficult to deliver the baby smoothly.
