Pemphigus Care

Pemphigus Care

Pemphigus, like systemic lupus erythematosus, is an autoimmune disease. There are many types of it, and each has different clinical manifestations. Although the treatment methods are similar, there are also certain differences. When suffering from this disease, the most important thing is to calm the patient's emotions, because the disease will manifest directly on the surface of the skin and the patient's emotions will be unstable. In addition, you just need to follow the doctor's instructions and take good care of the affected area.

Pemphigus is an autoimmune disease.

Clinical manifestations:

1. In the early stage of pemphigus vulgaris, painful erosions of the oral mucosa may occur, and half of the patients will also develop flaccid blisters and extensive skin erosions. The skin lesions may spread outward to the lips, forming thick, cracked blood scabs, and may also affect the throat, esophagus, and even the vagina, penis, and anus.

2. Vegetative pemphigus is relatively rare and is characterized by flaccid blisters that become erosive, with early lesions being pustules rather than blisters.

3. Pemphigus foliaceus, scaly, crusted skin erosions occur, usually on the basis of erythema.

4. Pemphigus erythematosus is a localized form of pemphigus foliaceus. Symptoms of pemphigus foliaceus usually appear on the cheeks and other "seborrheic" areas.

Health guidance:

1. Maintain a happy mood, get enough sleep, improve nutrition, exercise appropriately, prevent colds, improve the body's resistance, and prevent secondary infections.

2. Actively treat.

3. Take the medicine as prescribed by the doctor. Do not stop taking the medicine or increase or decrease the dosage at will. It is strictly forbidden to use drugs that induce pemphigus such as penicillin, phenylbutazone and rifampicin.

4. During the medication period, check blood and urine routine tests as well as liver and kidney functions at least once a month to avoid adverse drug reactions.

Pemphigus vulgaris is the most common type of pemphigus, which can cause unbearable pain to patients and also induce infection, causing great impact and distress to patients. Therefore, nursing is also very important in the treatment of pemphigus.

So what are the aspects of care for pemphigus? Let’s take a look.

1. Psychological care:

During the course of pemphigus, large areas of blisters will rupture on the patient's skin, which will greatly affect the patient's physiology and psychology, and will bring heavy psychological pressure and burden to the patient. The patient may show symptoms such as depression and irritability. Therefore, when patients are undergoing basic treatment, they must also be given ideological support.

2. Diet care:

Pay attention to the patient's nutritional balance. They can eat foods rich in high protein, vitamins, calories, and easily digestible foods. Avoid irritating, spicy foods. When the patient has blisters in the mouth or on the tip of the tongue, you can try eating semi-liquid high-protein and vitamin foods.
