The winter climate is cold and dry, which is a painful torture for many people, especially for some people who are more prone to frostbite, winter is even more torturous. In addition, many people are prone to red skin due to frostbite in winter. In fact, there are certain methods to prevent your skin from frostbite in winter. So, how to prevent and treat frostbite in winter? 1. Keep warm Keeping warm in winter is an effective way to prevent frozen hands, especially when working outdoors. It is important to be prepared for the cold. It is best to wear gloves and buy cotton clothes with longer sleeves, which will improve the effect of keeping warm. 2. Massage The reason for frozen hands is closely related to blood circulation. In winter, the amount of activity is small, and blood circulation and metabolism slow down, so hands are easily frozen and even get frostbite. Rubbing and massaging hands frequently to speed up blood circulation is a good way to prevent frozen hands. 3. Water washing method Insist on washing your hands with cold water, rubbing your hands with cold water until they turn red to stimulate your hands, and then washing your hands with warm water before going to bed at night to increase your hands' resistance to cold. 4. Soaking method Before going to bed every night, take 0.5g to 1g of licorice powder (available at Chinese medicine stores), put it in warm boiled water (water temperature 40℃, 1500ml), stir well, then place the frozen hands in the medicine and soak for 30 minutes. Take twice a day, seven days as a course of treatment. If the symptoms are severe and ulcers and infections occur, wash and dry the area and bandage it with sterilized gauze. Generally, soaking for one day can stop the itching, the redness and swelling can be reduced after two days, the redness and swelling will disappear after three days, wrinkles will be visible on the skin, there will be a little itching after four days, and it can be cured in seven days. 5. Ginger rubbing method You can take a piece of ginger, cut it into slices, and then use the ginger slices to repeatedly rub the frozen parts of your hands until your hands become hot and red or even sweaty, and then wash them off; or you can use a piece of fresh ginger, simmer it by the stove, cut it into slices, and apply it to the affected areas of your hands; or you can mash 50 grams of ginger, soak it in one or two liang of white wine, stir well, and apply it to the affected areas of your hands, three times a day; if frostbite has already occurred, heat fresh ginger juice into a paste, wait until it cools, and apply it to the frostbite areas of your hands twice a day for three consecutive days, and it will be effective. 6. Garlic Foaming Method Take a head of garlic, mash it and place it in the sun to heat it. Rub it gently and repeatedly on the part where hands are prone to frostbite until a small blister appears locally. Then prick the small blister with a sterilized needle. This method can promote the flow of local qi and blood, thereby reducing the occurrence of frostbite on the hands. |
