Sometimes I can't open my jaw.

Sometimes I can't open my jaw.

I don’t know if you have ever discovered in your life that sometimes if you suddenly open your mouth wide, you will feel pain in your jaw, and the second time, your jaw will not open properly. If you use too much force, you will feel unbearable pain. In fact, this is also a kind of disease. If necessary, the patient can go to the hospital for massage treatment. So why is it that your jaw can’t open properly sometimes?

This disease is also known as temporomandibular joint dysfunction. The cause is not very clear yet. It is generally believed to be caused by multiple factors. The function of the mandibular joint is closely related to the teeth, jaw, masticatory muscles, joints, ligaments, and the structural morphology of the joint itself. When these tissue structures are traumatized, inflamed, or dysfunctional, temporomandibular joint dysfunction syndrome may occur.

Clinical manifestations: soreness and pain in the mandibular joint, the pain worsens when chewing and opening the mouth, the mouth cannot be opened wide, the joint movement is limited, and the chewing power is weakened. When opening the mouth, a snapping sound can be heard, there is tenderness in front of the tragus, and the mandible may deviate to one side when the mandible is opened and closed.

Later I found out that it was caused by the blockage of some acupoints on the Shaoyang Triple Burner Meridian of the Hand (please search for the Shaoyang Triple Burner Meridian of the Hand in Traditional Chinese Medicine on Baidu). I started by massaging from a point at the end of the eyebrow and continued to the point behind the earlobe. (I don’t remember the specific names of the acupoints) It is best to find a map of the acupoints and press them. If it hurts, press harder, but not too hard. The acupuncture point just above my ear was very painful. After rubbing it for about 5 minutes, my jaw was able to open.

This situation may be caused by temporomandibular arthritis. You can take some anti-inflammatory and analgesic medicine first, such as spiramycin. Take oral detoxification and beauty capsules, dampness-clearing capsules and other medicines. Take appropriate amount of calcium supplement. First of all, you need to pay attention to dietary conditioning, avoid eating spicy, irritating, or cold foods, drink plenty of water, and receive symptomatic treatment.

This is a dislocation or a twisted ligament. The solution is to press the bone on the left side and then stretch it inwards and then pull it outwards. However, I don't support you to do this. It requires technical skills. You should go to the hospital to see an orthopedic doctor.
