Which department should I go to for migraine

Headache is not a disease, but it can be fatal. Many people have experienced headaches. Although headaches will not cause fatal effects on the body, they can affect life and work. People who suffer from headaches for a long time will feel very bad and their hearts will become more and more fragile, so that they lose the joy of life and work. So what should we do if we suffer from migraines?

This mainly depends on the severity of the migraine patient's illness and the purpose of treatment. If the patient has a mild migraine and the purpose of treatment is only to temporarily relieve symptoms and suppress pain, then the treatment methods adopted by the Department of Neurology, such as taking painkillers, physical therapy, and oral Chinese medicine, are effective to a certain extent.

However, some patients with intractable migraine have increasingly severe symptoms and cannot be cured for a long time (it is difficult to control the symptoms through medication). At this time, some surgical methods should be used for treatment.

Microvascular decompression is a technique used to treat migraines based on the "vascular compression nerve theory," a migraine pathology recognized by the medical community. Microvascular decompression finds the site of the lesion under a microscope and relieves the compression or entanglement of the blood vessels on the nerves, thereby completely eliminating migraine.

Migraine Treatment

Migraine (vascular headache): a type of headache that occurs periodically. It is divided into migraine with aura and migraine without aura. Migraine is an unstable trigeminovascular reflex with segmental defects in the pain control pathway, which causes excessive discharges from the spinal trigeminal nucleus and excessive afferent nerve impulses to the trigeminothalamic tract, ultimately causing interactions between the brainstem and intracranial blood vessels.

The instructional video points out that acupuncture can be used to treat headaches:

Migraine (vascular headache): insert Taiyang point into the Gu point, and at the same time, needling the contralateral Hegu point. The effect is very good, acupuncture is performed when an attack occurs.

If migraine is accompanied by nausea and vomiting, acupuncture should be used on Zhongwan, Neiguan, Zusanli and Gongsun points. There is a case in the teaching video where a patient had migraine for 25 years and was cured after two treatments of acupuncture.

Note: No needles will be left in children under 14 years old.

For migraine, red eyes, and splitting headache, you can use Toufeng Mo San and apply it externally on the headache area. For head wind massage powder, take one spoonful of roasted aconite powder and one spoonful of Qinghai salt, mix them together in equal amounts, mix with water, and apply directly to the area where you have a headache. If Qinghai salt is not available, inland salt can be used, but sea salt cannot be used.
