Left ethmoid sinus osteoma

Left ethmoid sinus osteoma

Ethmoid sinus osteoma is a common type of tumor that appears in people's body structure. It naturally causes great harm to people's physical health and sometimes even threatens people's life safety. Ethmoid sinus osteoma is the most common benign tumor of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. When this condition occurs, it is often caused by sinusitis lesions that develop in patients. The third degree osteoma is divided into two types: left and right. So when you suffer from left ethmoid sinus osteoma, what method should be used to better solve the problem?

1. What kind of disease is ethmoid sinus osteoma?

Osteoma is the most common benign tumor of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. It mostly occurs in the paranasal sinuses. It generally grows very slowly and tends to stop developing on its own after adulthood. Most cases occur in the frontal sinus, followed by the ethmoid sinus, and rarely in the maxillary sinus and sphenoid sinus. Therefore, for adult patients with very small bone tumors and no obvious symptoms, no treatment is required, but regular X-ray examinations should be performed. If the tumor is very large and has caused facial deformation or obvious symptoms, surgical removal can be performed.

The traditional surgical approaches for removing ethmoid sinus osteoma include extranasal open surgery, such as lateral nasal incision approach, craniofacial combined approach and other procedures. Removal of ethmoid sinus osteoma is one of the optional surgical approaches, but whether this method is the best choice has always been controversial. It depends on your own choice.

2. Symptoms of ethmoid sinus osteoma

If the tumor is large, it may cause headaches due to compression; and frontoethmoid osteoma is prone to complications such as sinusitis, mucocele, pneumocephalus, intracranial infection, and cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea.

3. Treatment of ethmoid sinus osteoma

It is recommended to go to the hospital for a clear examination, diagnosis, and then targeted treatment, preferably surgical removal; after surgery, you can cooperate with the Chinese medicine ginsenoside Rh2 for auxiliary treatment to enhance immunity and promote postoperative recovery; it is the essence extracted from ginseng, has good anti-tumor activity, and helps prevent postoperative recurrence; it can also resist fatigue, delay aging, improve appetite and sleep, and help improve the quality of life.

The treatment of ethmoid sinus osteoma needs to be based on the specific situation. If it is small, you can observe it, but if it is large, you need to consider timely surgical removal. It is recommended that you go to the ENT department in time. The doctor will give timely and standardized treatment according to your specific situation. Do not eat spicy food, pay attention to rest, and avoid fatigue and staying up late.
