For this reason, experts remind the public that ginkgo nuts must be cooked, or the shells can be cut and then microwaved over medium heat for one or two minutes before eating; at the same time, it is not advisable to eat too many ginkgo nuts, and a maximum of six or seven nuts should be eaten at a time, and no more than ten nuts should be eaten, to prevent poisoning. In addition, children should try to eat less ginkgo nuts, and should not eat them for a long time. Infants under 5 years old should not eat ginkgo nuts.
