What bowl to use for heating food in the microwave

Microwave ovens are now a relatively popular kitchen appliance. Their most obvious benefit is that they are very convenient. Cold food can be quickly heated up in a short time using a microwave oven. When using a microwave oven to heat food, you should choose some bowls that are specially designed for microwave ovens, such as tempered glass bowls, special plastic bowls, etc. Also, be careful about some things when heating food in a microwave.

What bowl to use for heating food in microwave

a. Tempered glass

Bowls made of glass have excellent permeability and can stabilize physical and chemical properties. They are also very resistant to high temperatures, reaching 500 to 1,000 degrees Celsius. This material is very suitable for use in microwave ovens because it is a container made of microcrystalline glass, borosilicate glass, and titanium oxide crystalline glass.

b. Special plastic material

There are plastic bowls on the market that are specially designed for microwave ovens. Containers made of this material are suitable for use in microwave ovens and have strong high temperature resistance, up to 120 degrees Celsius. Plastic boxes made of PET resin and polyester materials can withstand temperatures of up to 220 degrees Celsius, making them the best choice for microwave ovens.

c. Ceramic container

What kind of bowls are suitable for microwave ovens? Containers made of heat-resistant ceramics can be used in microwave ovens for a long time, but ordinary ceramics can only be used for a short time. However, ceramics with gold or silver decorations cannot be put into the microwave, as it will produce certain sparks and be destructive.

What things can't be heated in a microwave?

a. Food without water

Food without water in it cannot be put into the microwave oven, because when the microwave oven is in use, it will emit a phenomenon of penetrating water molecules and produce a resonance with the water. There will be intense friction and collision between the water molecules, thereby generating energy and heating the water-containing food. Some dry flour or anhydrous calcium chloride, anhydrous citric acid and other foods cannot be put into the microwave oven, as this will cause damage to the microwave oven.

b. Closed containers and food in shells

To heat food in a plastic bag, you must puncture a hole in the bag because it may slowly expand during use and may burst. When heating food with shells, you should puncture the food first and loosen the packaging bag a little to avoid explosion.
