Can I take a sauna after drinking alcohol?

Drinking is an activity that men often like to do, because they will choose to drink to release their emotions after work or when they are socializing at work. After drinking, a person's body and mind will be properly relaxed, but of course drinking can also cause other symptoms. A common way people like to relax is to take a sauna after drinking alcohol, but can you take a sauna after drinking alcohol?

After drinking, the human body's pulse rate and blood pressure will increase due to the excitement of the sympathetic nerves. Staying in warm places such as steam rooms and saunas after drinking will reduce the ability of blood vessels to relax, and the ability to regulate blood pressure and pulse will also decrease. In this way, the continued fast pulse and high blood pressure will put an increasing burden on the heart.

If you sleep in a sauna room while drunk or dehydrated, your body will not even have enough water to evaporate as sweat. Lack of water causes the heart rate to increase and the blood flow to increase suddenly. Getting up from lying in the steam room for a while can cause a temporary headache or even fainting.

Going to a steam room and sleeping after drinking alcohol can trigger symptoms of rhabdomyolysis. Rhabdomyolysis is the death of muscles due to stress or burns. If you sleep on the hard floor of a steam room for more than 2 hours without changing your posture, the blood flow to the compressed muscles will be blocked, which will cause muscle necrosis. After drinking, sleeping in a warm steam room will cause less changes in sleeping posture than usual, and you will keep sleeping in the same posture, especially lying motionless in an environment above 40°. The muscles in contact with the hot floor will cause low-temperature burns.

Taking a sauna after drinking alcohol will accelerate the excretion of water in the body, increase blood viscosity, increase myocardial oxygen consumption, and increase the burden on the heart. Because people are not sober after drinking, they are less likely to feel any discomfort in their bodies, so going to a sauna or steam room is even more dangerous.
