What to do if blisters on feet hurt?

In our lives, many people are prone to blisters on their feet, especially when walking too much. If the shoes are uncomfortable, long-term friction will cause blisters. For women, wearing high heels is the most likely to cause blisters. If blisters keep appearing, it is likely to cause bacterial infection and athlete's foot, which will make the patient feel pain. So what should I do if the blisters on my feet are very painful?

1. Try not to break it.

Many people can't stand the itch and like to squeeze the blisters on their feet. In fact, this is not good for the wound. After the blisters are squeezed, the deep skin will be easily infected by bacteria. If you accidentally puncture it, you need to disinfect, bandage it, and put a clean soft cloth under it. And try to avoid touching it during your daily activities or exercise. You can also put medical tape on the blisters for added protection, but be careful not to tighten it too much.

2. Hygiene and cleanliness.

The skin around the blisters is fragile and sensitive. It is best to wash the blistering area and surrounding skin with clean water and soap every day, and then cover it with a Band-Aid to prevent bacterial infection.

3. Apply cold compress appropriately.

Blistered skin may be painful. Applying ice to relieve pain can also help capillaries absorb the blisters, reduce local redness, swelling and pain, and promote healing.

4. Suitable shoes

Never wear inappropriate shoes or shoes that make walking difficult on your feet if your feet are already abraded, otherwise it will cause secondary damage to the abrasions. Try to wear loose and comfortable shoes when going out.

5. Severe cases require medical attention

If the blisters do not heal after simple self-treatment for a long time, and the blisters continue to turn red, swollen, and pus for more than a week; or the pain intensifies and does not heal for a long time, it may be a sign of infection and you need to see a doctor for professional help.

I once read a news report about a woman who had her foot amputated because of blisters on her feet. Although it sounds a bit sensational, there are many cases where minor illnesses left untreated turn into major illnesses. Blisters on the feet should not be underestimated. You must take your body seriously and take care of your own body. After all, you must learn to love yourself before you can love others.
