Sequelae of finger amputation

Sequelae of finger amputation

Fingers are very important to us, but sometimes we have to undergo amputation surgery for various reasons. Finger amputation surgery may cause a series of sequelae, which makes many people feel helpless. The main sequelae of finger amputation is phantom limb pain, which is a relatively serious symptom. Next, let’s take a closer look at the sequelae of finger amputation.

Phantom limb pain will occur. Phantom limb pain, also known as phantom limb pain, means that the patient feels that the severed limb is still there and pain occurs there. The pain often occurs at the distal end of the severed limb, and the nature of the pain can vary, such as electric shock-like, cutting-like, tearing-like, or burning-like. It manifests as persistent pain that worsens in fits.

Reasons why parents should not put gloves on their babies:

1. Wearing gloves is not conducive to the growth and development of babies

The language function of babies aged 0-3 years old is not yet fully developed, and they need to rely on their limbs to perceive the external environment. Grasping things with hands is the most basic behavior for babies to perceive external things. Putting gloves on babies will restrict their finger movements, which is not conducive to the development of hand movements and tactile development.

In addition, putting gloves on the baby will inevitably reduce the contact between the baby and the mother, and skin contact will promote the development of brain nerves. As the baby's emotions develop, he will seek self-comfort and satisfaction by sucking his fingers. If the sucking need is not met, it will affect their physical and mental development, leading to negative emotions such as irritability and depression.

2. There are safety risks in putting gloves on babies

1) If the glove opening is tied too tightly, it will affect the blood circulation in the baby's hands.

2) If there are threads inside the gloves, they may get tangled around the baby's fingers, causing ischemia in the fingers. Babies do not have the ability to express themselves, and if they are not discovered in time, the baby's fingers may easily become necrotic, causing lifelong regrets.

3) May easily induce disease. As children's emotions develop, they will start to suck their fingers, but if the gloves are not cleaned properly, it can easily induce certain diseases.
