What does a blood test for stomach cancer check for?

What does blood screening for gastric cancer check? According to reports, the examinee only needs to draw 2 ml of venous blood and perform serum gastric function tests to promptly detect the risk of gastric mucosal lesions and greatly improve the detection rate of early gastric cancer. Gastric cancer can have many symptoms. It is recommended that if you have any uncomfortable symptoms in your stomach in your life, you should check it in time to avoid serious harm. Next, let's take a look at the examination methods for gastric cancer.

Gastric cancer screening:
(I) Routine blood test and fecal occult blood test, what diagnostic methods should be used to check for gastric cancer? Anemia is particularly common in gastric cancer patients, and about 50% have iron deficiency anemia. This phenomenon may be caused by long-term blood loss; or it may be caused by nutritional deficiencies. If there is pernicious anemia, megaloblastic anemia will be seen. If the patient's fecal occult blood test is continuously positive, it may be a gastric cancer patient. This test is convenient and has auxiliary diagnostic significance. Some scholars use it as the preferred method for diagnosing gastric cancer. Gastric juice analysis, gastric juice analysis is not very meaningful. Although advanced gastric cancer may show no acid or low gastric acid secretion due to involvement of the acid-secreting area, this low gastric acid secretion condition can overlap with that of normal people, so it is no longer included in routine examinations. This is also one of the diagnostic methods for gastric cancer.
(II) Tumor marker detection, gastric cancer diagnosis The gastric cancer markers currently used in clinical practice are not very specific. Serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is of little diagnostic significance. Although CEA in the gastric juice of half of the patients is significantly elevated, exceeding 100ng/ml, it also overlaps with the content in the gastric juice of chronic atrophic gastritis. The gastric cancer-related antigens used recently are said to have a positive rate of more than half, but there is still a certain proportion of false positives. X-ray barium meal examination, X-ray examination is still of great value in the diagnosis of gastric cancer. In recent years, with the application of air-barium double contrast method, compression method and low tension imaging technology, and the use of high-density barium powder, the fine structure of the mucosa can be clearly displayed, which is conducive to the discovery of tiny lesions.
(III) Gastroscopy. Gastroscopy combined with mucosal biopsy is currently the most reliable method for diagnosing gastric cancer. Experienced endoscopists can diagnose gastric cancer at a rate of more than 95%. To this end, more biopsy specimens should be taken. Some people suggest that more than one piece should be taken. Gastroscopy is the best method for diagnosing early gastric cancer. Under the microscope, early gastric cancer may appear as a discolored mucosa, or the local mucosa may be granular and rough, or show slight changes. Biopsy should be performed in all cases. The size of the cancer should be estimated under the microscope. Those less than 1 cm are called small gastric cancers, and those less than 0.5 cra are called micro gastric cancers.
