Sequelae of brainstem infarction

Sequelae of brainstem infarction

The brainstem is a key part inside the brain that directly determines the normal functionality of the brain. If you do not pay attention to this health issue, it may directly lead to brainstem infarction, which may cause dizziness and headache, and may even be accompanied by decreased vision and general fatigue. We must not ignore this situation, because once this problem continues to develop, it will make the problem worse and produce irreparable sequelae.

Sequelae of brainstem infarction

Before a brainstem infarction occurs, there will generally be symptoms such as dizziness, unbearable headache, numbness of the limbs, rapid vision loss, and general weakness. Since the symptoms before a brainstem infarction are not obvious and are easily overlooked, special attention should be paid.

1. In fact, brainstem infarction is a chronic cerebrovascular ischemic disease. Even if patients use the most advanced and complete treatment plan in the hospital, almost half of the patients will have sequelae. Many patients with brainstem infarction are still unable to take care of themselves after recovery, and the chance of disability caused by this disease is getting higher and higher. If the old disease unfortunately relapses, the consequences will be even more serious.

2. After the treatment of brainstem infarction, some sequelae are still difficult to cure, because brainstem infarction is a solid-state abnormality. Certain liquids and gases in the body will enter the brain system through the blood, causing blockage of arteries, which will directly lead to necrosis of the brain system. For example, it will cause paralysis in some patients, or numbness of some limbs, and slurred speech.

What are the symptoms of brainstem infarction?

In fact, brainstem infarction is caused by cerebral arteriosclerosis. The endothelium of the cerebral blood vessels is damaged to a certain extent, causing the cerebral arteries to become very narrow. In addition, various factors lead to the formation of many blood clots. At this time, the cerebral arteries will become even narrower, and in more serious cases, they may even be completely blocked, so brainstem infarction will occur.

1. Patients with brainstem infarction usually develop the disease when they are resting quietly. The onset is very sudden. Before the onset, they will feel numbness all over the body, unclear speech, blackness in front of their eyes, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, unstable blood pressure, and a series of transient cerebral ischemia symptoms.

2. Some patients with brainstem infarction may also experience tinnitus, numbness of one side of the limbs, difficulty swallowing, and severe cases may lead to coma. Since the patients' bodies are different, the symptoms will also be different.
