The difference between milk calcium and liquid calcium

Calcium plays a very important role in the baby's growth process and can promote bone development. In addition to providing children with calcium through food, direct calcium supplementation is also very important. Milk calcium and liquid calcium are two very common calcium substances. When choosing for their children, parents are very concerned about the difference between the two. So, what is the difference between milk calcium and liquid calcium? Let’s take a look below.

Whether liquid or milk calcium is better depends on the age of the baby and how the baby absorbs it. It cannot be generalized. Just choose the right one, not the expensive one. Some products may not be suitable for your baby. It is recommended that babies under one year old should eat milk calcium, as milk calcium is easier to absorb.

Milk calcium

Milk calcium is pure natural active high milk protein calcium extracted directly from milk. The milk minerals rich in milk calcium are natural sources extracted from milk. The advantages of these ingredients not only provide a balanced nutritional composition, but also promote the absorption and utilization of calcium, such as phosphorus, magnesium, lactose and protein. The scientific calcium-phosphorus ratio of 2:1 in milk calcium is beneficial for the human body's absorption and utilization. Because cow's milk is rich in lactose and protein, its absorption rate is much higher than other ordinary calcium. The absorption rate of milk calcium is as high as 62% to 70%, which is 2.5 times that of calcium carbonate and calcium gluconate, 1.75 times that of calcium lactate, and 5.5 times that of shellfish calcium. Consuming milk calcium will not cause bloating, edema, or constipation, so milk calcium is currently the best source of calcium supplement for infants.

Milk calcium, also known as whey calcium, is calcium extracted from milk. It is a combination of mineral salts obtained after dehydration, defatting, and drying spray. Its components include calcium citrate, calcium phosphate, ionic calcium, as well as zinc, phosphorus, protein, immunoglobulin, growth factor, lactoferrin and other rich nutrients. For infants and pregnant women with very fragile gastrointestinal function, milk calcium is much less irritating than other mineral calcium elements, and there is basically no rejection or allergy. Among all types of calcium, bovine milk calcium is easily absorbed by the human body. The reasonable calcium-phosphorus ratio in bovine milk calcium powder, naturally occurring vitamin D, casein phosphopeptide (CPP) and other natural nutrients are all good factors to help calcium absorption.

Liquid Calcium

Liquid calcium is an emulsion-like calcium supplement product made from milk through ultra-low temperature freezing extraction and concentration.

There are more than 40 types of calcium nutritional fortifiers allowed for use internationally, and the dosage forms mainly include solid tablets, powders, granules, capsules, and liquid solutions, emulsions, etc. Because solid calcium must be broken down by gastric acid, calcium is freed from the complex and released into a soluble ionized state before it can be easily absorbed. Therefore, solid calcium generally has the risk of damaging the stomach, and can cause discomfort such as gas production and nausea. In comparison, liquid calcium is easier to absorb and safer because the calcium ion release process is simpler and more direct.
