The pregnancy test paper is getting darker day by day

Early pregnancy test strips can test whether a woman is pregnant in the early stages of pregnancy. Under normal circumstances, the color of the pregnancy test paper will become darker day by day. But in fact, if you want to confirm whether you are pregnant, relying solely on early pregnancy test strips is not comprehensive or reliable. If you find signs of pregnancy, it is best to go to the hospital for a detailed examination first. Next, I will introduce to you other methods of judging early pregnancy.

1. Basic body temperature judgment method

Basal body temperature refers to the body temperature measured after waking up from a long sleep (more than 8 hours) and before any activity. The basal body temperature of women of normal childbearing age changes with the menstrual cycle. The basal body temperature after ovulation is slightly higher than before ovulation, rising by about 0.5℃ and lasts for 12 to 14 days, until it drops 1 to 2 days before menstruation or the first day of menstruation. If you suspect you are pregnant after your menstrual period, you can measure your basal body temperature. Before going to bed at night,

Set the mercury column of the thermometer to below 35℃ and place it where you can easily get it to avoid getting up or moving around. When I woke up the next morning,

Before speaking or getting up to move around, immediately use a thermometer to measure your oral temperature for 5 minutes. Continue testing for 3 to 4 days to determine whether you are pregnant.

2. Cervical mucus judgment method

The type of cervical mucus crystals is very important for diagnosing early pregnancy. After a woman becomes pregnant, the "menstrual corpus luteum" of the ovary not only does not atrophy, but instead further develops into a "corpus luteum of pregnancy" and secretes a large amount of progesterone. Therefore, when there are many ellipsoids arranged in rows in the cervical mucus smear, the doctor can conclude that there is pregnancy when seeing so many ellipsoids. If the menstrual period has passed and typical fern-like crystals are seen in the cervical mucus smear, pregnancy is absolutely impossible.

3. Gynecological examination judgment method

During pregnancy, changes in the reproductive system, especially the uterus, are very obvious. However, it is not very meaningful to perform a gynecological examination just a few days after menstruation. This is because most changes in the reproductive organs caused by pregnancy only begin to show after 6 weeks of pregnancy. If the examination reveals that the vaginal walls and cervix are congested, softened, and purple-blue; the junction between the cervix and uterine body is noticeably softened, so that the two seem to be separated; the uterus becomes soft and enlarged, and the anterior-posterior diameter widens and becomes spherical, and touching the uterus causes contraction, then it can be concluded that pregnancy has occurred.

4. Progesterone test judgment method

If the progesterone in the body disappears suddenly, it will cause uterine bleeding. For women who had regular menstruation in the past but whose menstruation is missed and who are suspected of early pregnancy, a progesterone test can be used to assist in the diagnosis of early pregnancy. The subjects were given intramuscular injections of 10 to 20 mg of progesterone (i.e., progestogen) daily for 3 to 5 consecutive days. If there is no vaginal bleeding within 7 days after stopping the medication, the test is positive, and pregnancy can be basically confirmed.

5. Blood and urine test

It refers to the detection of human chorionic gonadotropin in the mother's blood or urine. If so, it means there are embryonic chorionic trophoblast cells in the body, and pregnancy can be confirmed.

6. B-ultrasound examination judgment method

If the pregnancy is 5 weeks, use B-type ultrasound imaging to check. A pregnancy sac was visible on the imaging screen, and fetal heartbeats were present at 6 weeks of gestation.
