The bone above the buttocks hurts

The bone above the human buttock groove is called the coccyx, and the coccyx is one of the important components of the spine. Therefore, when there is a problem with the coccyx, it is necessary to promptly identify the cause of the problem. Many times, when people fall, they are likely to injure their coccyx, so many people experience bone pain above the buttock groove. How should I treat the bone pain above the buttock groove?

1. What causes coccyx pain?

There are sensory nerves and coccygeal nerves in the coccyx area. When there is a lesion in the reproductive and urinary system in the pelvic cavity, the pain will involve the coccygeal nerves through the sacral nerve, causing pseudo-coccygealgia. The pain can be acute or chronic. Patients are often unable to sit or stand in a normal manner and always feel more comfortable lying in bed or standing. The pain is sometimes concentrated only at the tip of the coccyx, with local tenderness, while for some people the pain range is more vague. The pain is sometimes exacerbated by increased pressure on the levator ani muscles. If the pain worsens at night or when you cough or sneeze continuously, you should be especially careful, because sometimes tumors near the coccyx or spinal tumors can cause similar symptoms.

2. The causes of coccyx pain can be divided into two categories

True coccydynia: The pain comes from the coccyx itself, and is commonly caused by coccyx injury or fracture.

Pseudo-coccygealgia:

The pain comes from outside the coccyx and is reflex pain. Common causes include pelvic inflammation, tumors, and genitourinary system diseases.

3. Treatment of coccyx pain

Take painkillers; electrotherapy, massage, and appropriate exercise can all help. Local injection of analgesics can provide relief for some patients.

If the coccyx is broken, surgery is required, but it is rare for the coccyx to need to be removed due to severe pain.

You need a proper cushion made of moderate material, not too hard or too soft.

Specific treatment can be achieved by changing the sitting posture, that is, try to sit with the thighs to reduce the weight and pressure on the buttocks; when sitting, you can use air cushions or air rings to suspend the painful area to prevent local compression and thus relieve pain.

It can also be treated with infrared, ultrasonic, ion introduction, massage, acupuncture, cupping, Chinese medicine oral and external application, etc. If Chinese medicine is used for external application, drugs that relax muscles and tendons, promote blood circulation and relieve pain can be put into a cloth bag, put into a pot, add water and boil it, and then apply wet heat to the affected area; local application of blood circulation and pain relief ointment or musk analgesic ointment is also effective; go to the hospital for local blockade, that is, use 2-4 ml of 2% procaine plus 0.5-1 ml of hydrocortisone acetate to block the local pain point, which can achieve immediate results.
