Precautions for quicklime dehumidification

Quicklime is a desiccant that absorbs moisture very well. Adding moisture to quicklime will cause the temperature to rise rapidly, and the water temperature will become hot. Therefore, it is recommended to use quicklime for dehumidification. If we want to use quicklime in our lives, we should be clear about the precautions of quicklime and try to seal it in a jar, so that it can have a dehumidification effect.

About one kilogram per square meter.

It is best in block form, which will gradually turn into powder after absorbing a certain amount of water. After being left for a period of time, the lime changes from a block to a gray state and becomes darker in color, and it is time to replace it.

Sprinkle it under the bed and in the four corners of the house. Dehumidification is a process and it is not over just by adding lime. It is not a good idea to put all the lime at once, because the lime on top will absorb water and cover the lime below. You have to replace it after a while.

Properties of quicklime:

Quicklime generally contains over-burned lime, which matures slowly. If it matures after the lime slurry has hardened, the expansion caused by the maturation will cause bulging and cracking. In order to eliminate the harm of over-burned lime, the lime should be aged for about 2 weeks after being matured.

It is white (or gray, brown-white) in appearance, amorphous, and absorbs water and carbon dioxide in the air. Calcium oxide reacts with water to form calcium hydroxide and releases heat. Soluble in acid water, insoluble in alcohol. It is an inorganic alkaline corrosive substance, and its national hazard code number is 95006. Quicklime reacts chemically with water and is then immediately heated to temperatures exceeding 100°C.

Note:

The shorter the operation time, the better. Place it in a suitable place in the packaging container to seal and absorb moisture.

Store in a dry warehouse, away from moisture and avoid contact with acids.

Avoid moisture during transportation and handle with care to prevent packaging damage that may affect product quality.

Do not eat. If ingested, rinse mouth with water and seek medical attention immediately. (Remember not to drink water)
