How to do a pedicure

People should be familiar with pedicure, which is a very common conditioning method nowadays. Along with acupuncture and massage, these two conditioning methods are China's three major martial arts and a very important part of traditional Chinese medicine. This method of pedicure is specifically aimed at those who have foot diseases, such as corns, onychomycosis, nails ingrown in the flesh, etc. Many people are curious about pedicure. Here we will introduce how pedicure is performed.

Pedicure is a Chinese folk art that specializes in treating foot skin and toenail diseases for patients with foot diseases. It is an integral part of external treatment in traditional Chinese medicine. It combines traditional Chinese medical skills with knife techniques to treat various foot diseases. It is known as one of China's "three major national arts" along with acupuncture and massage. Pedicure is a treatment for various problems on the feet, including trimming toenails, shaving feet, pinching feet, exfoliating, etc. It mainly repairs foot pads, corns, thick nails, gray nails, ingrown nails, etc. It is an important measure to protect human health.

Technique

There are many variations in pedicure techniques. There are three ways to hold the knife: pinching the knife, forcing the knife and using a long knife; there are eight ways to hold the foot: supporting, picking, pinching, clamping, gathering, grasping, struggling and pushing; there are eight ways to repair: grabbing, breaking, splitting, slicing, digging, tearing, dividing and scraping. There are various pedicure methods, each tailored to the disease, and generally the disease can be cured quickly. Pedicure can cure some foot diseases that are difficult to treat even in hospitals. Pedicure is known as "carving flowers on flesh."

As far as pedicure skills are concerned, due to differences in regions and traditional customs, the country can be roughly divided into three major schools. The first is the "Northeast School" represented by Beijing pedicure, including North China and Northeast China; the second is the "Jiangsu School" represented by Yangzhou pedicure, covering the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the vast southern region; the third is the "Shandong School" centered on Jinan pedicure. Among them, the Yangzhou pedicure school is renowned both at home and abroad for its exquisite skills and its ability to improve health and cure diseases.

Some notes on pedicure:

1. Precautions for repairing corns

①During the operation, the knife must be inserted strictly along the dividing line and gradually go deeper to completely remove the corns. If there is a milky white membrane-like substance, it must be dug out completely to avoid

Residual disease can cause recurrence.

② If normal tissue is damaged during the operation and bleeding occurs, you can use a cotton ball dipped in a small amount of ferric chloride powder to press the bleeding area, and the bleeding will stop in a moment.

③After surgical removal, you can apply Wanying Ruyi ointment continuously, changing the dressing once every two days until it heals.

2. Precautions for callus repair

① When cutting the edge of the stratum corneum, the knife should be inserted in a direction slightly oblique to the horizontal direction, not vertically, to avoid damaging the dermis at the beginning and causing bleeding and pain.

② Strictly follow the “blue line” when cutting, such as the ball bottom pad, the bottom layer is spherical, and normal tissue should not be damaged. If there are corns or warts under the callus, they should be dug out as well.

③ For shallow, smaller, and softer calluses, the tearing method should be used as much as possible, tearing along the skin texture. This treatment will prevent calluses from recurring easily.
