Which patients are susceptible to pancreatic cancer

Which patients are susceptible to pancreatic cancer

Determining the high-risk asymptomatic population of pancreatic cancer patients is an extremely complex issue. A large number of clinical research results show that the incidence of pancreatic cancer is becoming younger and younger, and the clinical manifestations are hidden, the disease progresses rapidly, the malignancy is high, and the prognosis is extremely poor. Therefore, screening and monitoring in the middle-aged and elderly population can achieve early detection of pancreatic cancer, so as to carry out active symptomatic treatment, which is of great value in reducing the mortality rate of pancreatic cancer. The high-risk population for pancreatic cancer mainly includes the following categories:

1. People over 40 years old who smoke, drink heavily, are exposed to harmful chemicals for a long time, and have non-specific abdominal pain and bloating after excluding liver, gallbladder, gastrointestinal and other diseases are at high risk of pancreatic cancer, so they should be highly vigilant about the possibility of pancreatic cancer.

2. For those with a family history of pancreatic cancer, experts believe that genetic factors account for 5%-10% of the incidence of pancreatic cancer.

3. Patients with acute and chronic pancreatitis. It is currently believed that acute and chronic pancreatitis are an important precancerous lesion in some patients, especially chronic familial pancreatitis and chronic calcific pancreatitis, which are more likely to develop into pancreatic cancer.

4. For patients with benign pancreatic lesions who undergo distal subtotal gastrectomy, especially those who have been postoperative for more than 20 years, the incidence of pancreatic cancer may increase by 1.65 to 5 times.

5. Patients with sudden onset of diabetes, especially atypical diabetes. People over 60 years old, without a family history of diabetes, not obese, and who quickly develop insulin resistance are more likely to develop pancreatic cancer. Clinically, 40% of pancreatic cancer patients have diabetes when diagnosed.

Since pancreatic cancer has no obvious and specific symptoms and signs in the early stage, and lacks a simple and reliable diagnostic method, the survival rate of pancreatic cancer patients is greatly reduced. Therefore, being alert to high-risk factors and populations for pancreatic cancer and doing a good job in regular pancreatic cancer screening will help early diagnosis and early treatment of pancreatic cancer and improve the survival rate of pancreatic cancer patients.

Since pancreatic cancer is a complex tumor disease, patients should receive treatment or rehabilitation under the guidance of experts and rehabilitation therapists after being diagnosed by experts.
