The role of autonomic nervous system

The role of autonomic nervous system

I believe that many people do not know what the function of autonomic nervous system means, mainly because they lack medical knowledge, so everyone can learn more about relevant medical knowledge. In fact, the autonomic nervous function is the reaction of the visceral nerve fibers to the efferent nerves, generally referring to heart beat and respiratory metabolism, etc. These systems refer to the body's unconscious regulation of the body, and then control the body's performance functions through neural methods.

The autonomic nervous system (VNS) is the efferent nerves in the visceral nerve fibers, also known as the autonomic nervous system [1]; the VNS controls vital physiological functions such as heart beat, breathing, digestion, blood pressure, metabolism, etc.

The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is a control system that largely unconsciously regulates bodily functions such as heart rate, digestion, breathing rate, pupil response, urination, and sexual drive. This system mainly controls "stress" and "emergency" responses.

Function

The autonomic nerves are the motor nerves in the visceral nerves, also known as the autonomic nerves. Visceral motor nerves can be divided into sympathetic nerves and parasympathetic nerves according to their functions and pharmacological characteristics:

1. The sympathetic nerves are emitted from the spinal nerves and are mainly distributed in the internal organs, cardiovascular system and glands.

2. Parasympathetic nerves, divided into the brain and sacral spine; often in the central axis of the animal body, composed of obvious cranial ganglia, nerve cords or brain and spinal cord and the connecting components between them:

① The brain center is located in the brain stem, collectively known as the parasympathetic nucleus, which sends fibers running in the 3rd, 7th, 9th, and 10th cranial nerves, controlling and coordinating the functions of internal organs, blood vessels, glands, etc.;

② The sacral center is located in the intermediolateral sacral nucleus in the gray matter of segments 2 to 4 of the sacral cord. It sends preganglionic fibers to the paraganglia near the organs and the internal ganglia in the organ walls, forming the pelvic nerve, which innervates the digestive tract below the descending colon, pelvic organs, and external genitalia.

Under normal circumstances, the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves of the human body, which have opposite functions, are in a state of mutual balance and restraint. Among these two nervous systems, when one side plays a positive role, the other side plays a negative role, which is the function of the autonomic nervous system to balance, coordinate and control the body's physiological activities very well. Some people can also use consciousness to regulate the function of their autonomic nervous system through yoga or biofeedback techniques.
