Six dietary principles for colorectal cancer

Six dietary principles for colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer is a common malignant tumor of the digestive tract. There is no obvious discomfort in the early stage of the disease. Symptoms only appear when the tumor develops to a certain extent. So, what should people with colorectal cancer pay attention to in their daily diet?

1. You should choose foods that are low in fat, low in salt and rich in vitamins and minerals, which are beneficial to the treatment and recovery of colorectal cancer patients.

2. Patients with colorectal cancer should choose to increase protein and calories by 20% more than the normal people's needs. If malnutrition has occurred, more protein can be supplemented. The best protein intake is plant protein and some animal protein.

3. Patients with colorectal cancer should avoid eating cancer-inducing foods and eat more anti-cancer foods. According to a large number of clinical experimental studies by medical experts, common anti-cancer foods include cruciferous vegetables (such as cabbage and cauliflower), radish, garlic, sour plums, soybeans and beef.

4. Choosing a suitable dining environment and favorite food according to the preferences of colorectal cancer patients can promote appetite and improve the absorption and utilization rate of food.

5. Diet during radiotherapy. During radiotherapy, colorectal cancer patients suffer from severe damage to their yin and blood, so they should focus on nourishing yin and blood. Choose fresh vegetables and fruits. At the same time, you can cook tofu with mushrooms, pork liver and spinach soup, etc.

6. Diet during chemotherapy. Patients with colorectal cancer suffer from both Qi and blood damage during chemotherapy. It is advisable to mainly supplement Qi and blood. Turtle, fresh carp, Atractylodes macrocephala, mushrooms, bird's nest, sunflower, pear, ginkgo, etc. can be used to supplement Qi and nourish Yin. It is suitable for patients with early laryngeal cancer or patients who have undergone surgery. Diet therapy is one of the most important ways to treat colorectal cancer, but drug therapy often does not play a very thorough role. If colorectal cancer patients are suitable for surgical treatment, it is recommended to mainly use surgical treatment and supplement drug therapy.
