Differentiation between nasopharyngeal carcinoma and rhinitis

Differentiation between nasopharyngeal carcinoma and rhinitis

In the early stage of nasopharyngeal cancer, there are usually tinnitus, dizziness, blood in the mucus and other symptoms. Rhinitis is quite common in life, and patients with long-term and recurrent rhinitis will have nasal congestion and nose bleeding symptoms on a daily basis. The two are easily confused, so some early symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer are easily overlooked.

Comparison of symptoms between nasopharyngeal carcinoma and rhinitis bleeding:

1. Rhinitis patients have a history of frequent colds, and their nasal congestion is alternating, intermittent, and related to body position. When lying on the side, the lower nasal congestion worsens, while the other side is well ventilated. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma nasal congestion usually starts as unilateral nasal congestion. As the tumor continues to grow, the nasal septum is squeezed to the opposite side and bilateral nasal congestion occurs, which is progressive and continuous.

2. The typical symptom of three-quarters of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients is bloody nasal discharge. Once nose bleeding occurs with simple nasal congestion, stuffy ears, and foul-smelling nasal discharge, the possibility of malignant tumors should be considered. If there is a family history and the symptoms of nasal congestion or nose bleeding persist, you should be highly vigilant. Most people experience it in the early morning when washing their mouths, which is a typical early manifestation of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and can be distinguished from rhinitis.

3. Rhinitis can develop into nasopharyngeal cancer. You should be alert to the possibility of rhinitis developing into nasopharyngeal cancer. Currently, the number of people suffering from rhinitis is increasing, and the age is tending to be younger. The number of patients with rhinitis is increasing year by year, and the harm to the human body cannot be ignored. Once you have rhinitis, you must treat it in time and never let it develop into a serious disease.
