Diet therapy to improve sleep quality in patients with brain cancer

Adequate sleep is important for any cancer patient, but brain cancer patients suffer from pain and are prone to symptoms such as irritability, panic, forgetfulness, and difficulty falling asleep. In order to help patients calm their minds and recuperate their bodies, the following are several dietary recipes to improve sleep quality.

Polygala and Lotus Root Porridge

Ingredients: 30g Polygala, 15g Lotus Seed, 50g Japonica Rice

Preparation: First soak the Polygala tenuifolia, remove the carpel and grind the lotus seeds into powder. Then cook the porridge with polished japonica rice. When it is cooked, add the Polygala tenuifolia and lotus seed powder and cook for one or two more times.

Directions: Eat as you like.

Efficacy: replenishes vital energy, improves mind, sharpens hearing and eyesight. Suitable for brain cancer patients with amnesia, palpitations, insomnia, etc.

Pineapple Seed Porridge

Ingredients: 10-15 grams of pine nuts, 50-100 grams of polished rice, and appropriate amount of honey.

Preparation: First remove the skin, shell and impurities of the pine nuts, mash them, and cook them into porridge with rice. When the porridge is almost cooked, add honey and cook it for one or two seconds.

Usage: Take twice a day, 2 to 3 days as a course of treatment.

Efficacy: moisturizes the intestines and relieves constipation, nourishes the heart and calms the mind. Suitable for patients with palpitations, insomnia, forgetfulness, and constipation caused by long-term bed rest.

Stewed Chicken with Wuling Ginseng

Ingredients: 1 chicken, 100 grams of black ginseng, appropriate amounts of wine, ginger, onion and salt.

Preparation: Soak the black ginseng in warm water for 4 to 8 hours, wash and slice it and put it into the chicken's belly. Put the chicken in a casserole, cover the chicken with water, add appropriate amount of wine, ginger and green onion, boil it over high heat, then simmer it over low heat, and add a little salt when the chicken is cooked.

Usage: Take twice a day, eat chicken and drink soup.

Efficacy: replenishes qi and strengthens the spleen, nourishes the heart and calms the mind. Suitable for patients with neurasthenia, palpitations and difficulty falling asleep.
