A dietary prescription for nourishing qi and blood in patients with esophageal cancer

Qi and blood are important driving forces for the normal functioning of internal organs. Esophageal cancer patients are weak and lack qi and blood after surgery. If they want to recover as soon as possible, they can take appropriate dietary therapy that helps to replenish qi and blood during daily conditioning.

Yam Noodles

Ingredients: 500 grams of white flour, 2 eggs (no yolk), 30 grams of bean flour, 250 grams of yam, 100 grams of mutton, and appropriate amounts of ginger, onion, and salt.

Preparation: First, peel the yam, cook it, and mash it, then mix it with white flour, egg white, and bean powder to make noodles. Boil mutton to make soup and cook the noodles, add appropriate amounts of ginger, onion, and salt.

Efficacy: replenishes deficiency and strengthens vitality. Suitable for esophageal cancer patients with weak constitution, deficiency of qi and blood, and thin body.

Lychee porridge

Ingredients: 50 grams of lychee meat, 10 grams of yam, 10 grams of lotus seeds, 100 grams of polished rice, and appropriate amount of white sugar.

Preparation: Peel and dice the yam, peel and core the lotus seeds, and dice the lychee flesh. Wash the rice. Boil the rice and lotus seeds with water until they are almost cooked, then add the yam and lychee cubes and continue to boil.

Efficacy: Nourishes the spleen and blood, suitable for patients with anemia and diarrhea after esophageal cancer surgery.

Date Sugar Cake

Ingredients: 500 grams of white flour, 150 grams of small dates, 100 grams of candied dates, 250 grams of brown sugar, 100 grams of millet flour, and 5 grams of rose.

Preparation: Put the flour into a bowl, dissolve the brown sugar in rose water, add it to the flour together with the millet flour, and stir it into a thin paste. Put the square mold into the steamer (633 cm square, 6 cm high mold), pour half of the prepared batter into it, scrape it flat with a board, put small dates (pitted), pour the remaining half of the batter on it, put candied dates on it, and steam it over high heat for 20 minutes. Cut into cubes and can be eaten cold or hot.

Efficacy: nourishes the spleen and kidney, replenishes qi and blood. Suitable for esophageal cancer patients with anemia, loss of appetite, and indigestion.
