What does hemisection ct examination of thyroid cancer include

Thyroid cancer is a common thyroid malignancy. Hemisection CT scan for thyroid cancer usually refers to the CT scan after hemisection of thyroid cancer. In clinical practice, computed tomography technology is mainly used to scan the thyroid gland and generate images for auxiliary diagnosis of thyroid cancer. CT scans after hemisection of thyroid cancer usually include upper cervical lymph node metastasis, thyroid bed, lungs, and bones.

1. Upper cervical lymph node metastasis: If a thyroid cancer patient has local lymph node metastasis, the CT scan may show enlarged lymph nodes with low-density shadows around them. If the lymph node metastasis is relatively large, it may also show a circular lymph node boundary. For patients with extensive lymph node metastasis, it may also show calcification in the lymph nodes.

2. Thyroid bed: After hemisection of thyroid cancer, the doctor can observe whether there are residual lesions in the thyroid bed. If there are residual lesions in the thyroid bed, it may appear as a soft tissue mass in the thyroid bed;

3. Lungs: If lung metastasis occurs after hemisection of thyroid cancer, CT scans may show soft tissue masses in the lungs, or small nodules, or small lung nodules.

4. Bones: If bone metastasis occurs after hemisection of thyroid cancer, it may manifest as a large lump in the local bone, accompanied by bone pain.

In addition to the above situations, if distant metastasis occurs, such as liver metastasis, brain metastasis, etc., it can manifest as discomfort in the liver area, abdominal distension, abdominal pain, etc. For patients who have undergone hemisection of thyroid cancer, serum calcium, parathyroid hormone, bone scan, neck ultrasound and other examinations should be completed during the follow-up period to determine whether the tumor has recurred. At the same time, attention should be paid to improving lifestyle, eating less iodized salt, exercising regularly, and avoiding staying up late.
