To prevent pancreatic cancer, you should quit smoking and actively treat inflammation

The occurrence of pancreatic cancer is closely related to smoking. In addition, if chronic pancreatitis is not effectively treated, it will develop into pancreatic cancer. Therefore, to prevent pancreatic cancer, you should quit smoking and drinking and actively treat inflammation.

To prevent pancreatic cancer, you should quit smoking

Tobacco contains aromatic amines, nitrosamines, nitrites, nicotine and other ingredients, which are the cause of pancreatic cancer. Some genes are expressed at inappropriate times and locations, gradually causing pancreatic cancer; smokers have a three-fold increased risk of pancreatic cancer compared to non-smokers, and quitting smoking for 10 years can reduce the risk to the same level as normal people. For lifelong smokers, there is a very obvious dose-effect relationship between smoking and pancreatic cancer risk in the last 15 years of their lives; tobacco-specific N-nitrite has a specific effect on the organ and can flow into the pancreas with the blood. Experiments have confirmed that maintaining adequate folic acid and pyridoxal concentrations can reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer related to smoking.

To prevent pancreatic cancer, you must first treat chronic pancreatitis

Pancreatitis is an inflammation of the pancreas that may develop into pancreatic cancer. Most epidemiological and molecular epidemiological studies support that chronic pancreatitis can develop into pancreatic cancer. Studies have shown that among 5,600 genes, 34 genes have reduced expression in pancreatic cancer and chronic pancreatitis patients, 157 genes have increased expression in chronic pancreatitis, and 152 of them have increased expression in pancreatic cancer. There may indeed be some connection between chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer.
