What is the infectious source of rectal cancer

Is colorectal cancer contagious? This is the most concerned issue for patients and their families. Many data show that among the factors that induce cancer, 80% are related to environmental factors. Although some cancers, such as liver cancer and nasopharyngeal cancer, are related to viral infections, there is no case that can prove that cancer is contagious. In addition, the incidence of cancer among medical personnel engaged in tumor diagnosis and treatment is not high.

What is the source of rectal cancer transmission? How does it spread? Cancer cells have four ways of spreading, namely direct spread, lymphatic metastasis, blood metastasis and implantation metastasis. They will not be transmitted by other ways. And normal skin will not be infected if it comes into contact with it. However, when the skin is damaged, it will be implanted if it comes into contact with cancer cells. In this way, the cancer cells are transferred, not transmitted to others. Therefore, there is no evidence to show that rectal cancer can be transmitted.

In the past few hundred years, the question of whether cancer is contagious has been frequently raised and continuously observed and studied. Especially since the discovery in 1908 that viruses can cause tumors, this question has become more eye-catching. Generally speaking, viruses are contagious, but the infectivity of various viruses varies. After viral infection, only 1% to 1% of people will develop clinical symptoms, while more people will not develop symptoms and are in a latent infection state. Whether or not a person develops symptoms after viral infection is closely related to the body's defense function. If the body's defense function is strong, even if there is a viral infection, the person may not develop the disease for life. It has been confirmed that more than 100 viruses can cause more than 30 types of tumors in animals. Some viruses can also cause human tumors. In this way, there is an objective material basis for the possibility of tumor transmission. Viruses or such virus particles have also been found in human Burkitt's lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, breast cancer, leukemia, cervical cancer, and melanoma.

Moreover, in animal experiments, some people injected spleen blood from chickens with sarcoma into healthy chickens, and the healthy chickens also developed sarcoma. Some people also let fleas that sucked blood from mice with breast cancer bite healthy mice, and they successfully inoculated tumors into healthy mice. However, this experiment has not been confirmed in humans so far. Moreover, even in animals, healthy animals living with cancerous animals have not been found to be directly infected with cancer. Foreign medical scientists have conducted long-term observations on patients in tumor sanatoriums and found that cancer patients with ulcers and cancer patients without ulcers have never been infected with each other after living together for a long time. On the other hand, there are countless cancer patients treated by doctors, and the cancer incidence rate of doctors is not higher than that of ordinary people. At present, there are a lot of facts that are common that cancerous animals and healthy animals live in the same room, and no examples of direct infection have been found. In hospitals, patients with different types of cancer have lived in the same room for a long time, and for many years, no mutual infection has been found.

Medical staff have long been in contact with cancer patients and have not found that their cancer incidence rate is higher than that of the general population. These facts show that general tumors are not contagious and that general contact with cancer patients will not infect them. Therefore, to this day, all hospitals do not adopt an isolation system for cancer patients.
