How to diagnose maxillary cancer

How to diagnose maxillary cancer

Early diagnosis of maxillary bone cancer is very important, because misdiagnosis can delay the course of the disease and affect treatment and prognosis. Maxillary bone cancer is common in the maxillary bone, especially in the maxillary molar area. So, how is maxillary bone cancer diagnosed? Let's make a detailed introduction to this issue.

Patients with maxillary cancer have no symptoms in the early stage. As the disease progresses, they may experience toothache, local pain, lower lip numbness and other symptoms. Lower lip numbness is often the primary symptom of central mandibular cancer. At this time, X-ray examination should be performed in time. X-rays show shadows in the apical area in the early stage, showing irregular worm-eaten destruction, which will later destroy and erode the bone compact.

To confirm the diagnosis, a tooth in the affected area can be extracted, and then a piece of tissue can be scraped from the alveolar socket for pathological examination. If the bone density has been penetrated to form a mass, biopsy is easier. The tumor can spread along the inferior alveolar nerve canal, even beyond the midline to the opposite side, or penetrate the inferior alveolar nerve foramen to invade the pterygomandibular space. The tumor infiltrates from the bone marrow to the bone density, and after penetrating the bone density, a mass will appear on the buccal and lingual side of the corresponding part.

The disease can metastasize to regional lymph nodes and blood circulation, and the prognosis is poor. Surgery is the main method for treating central jaw cancer. In order to prevent distant metastasis, chemotherapy should be combined before and after surgery.

The above content has introduced the diagnosis of maxillary cancer. If you feel unwell, you must go to the hospital in time for relevant examinations and diagnosis and treatment. I hope the above content can help everyone.
