Can a man with liver cancer have children?

Does liver cancer affect female fertility? It is well known that liver cancer is a very serious disease. Some liver cancer patients may wonder whether liver cancer will affect female fertility. In fact, liver cancer patients have normal reproductive systems and can of course give birth, because liver cancer is not contagious. This statement is not completely wrong. However, from a medical perspective and from the perspective of eugenics, a married liver cancer patient should be discouraged from getting pregnant and giving birth.

Although liver cancer is not an infectious disease, it has a significant familial clustering and genetic tendency. During pregnancy, the body consumes more energy, and changes in the endocrine system and immune system can easily lead to tumor development. Some clinically cured liver cancer patients experience recurrence or metastasis after pregnancy.

Patients who are diagnosed with liver cancer during pregnancy should consider terminating the pregnancy immediately and focus on treatment. During treatment, patients often have poor mental and physical conditions, poor appetite, and some experience digestive symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, which lead to malnutrition and inevitably affect the growth and development of the fetus. At the same time, chemotherapy or radiotherapy may also cause miscarriage and fetal malformation.

It is best for liver cancer patients not to breastfeed, especially those who have just recovered from liver cancer. Breastfeeding should be avoided to prevent liver cancer recurrence and metastasis. Breastfeeding will increase the patient's physical exertion, further deteriorate the patient's physical fitness, affect the body's immune function, and is extremely detrimental to the body's control of cancer foci and potential recurrence and metastasis.
