Can benign esophageal cancer be cured?

Benign esophageal tumors are rare, accounting for only 1% of esophageal tumors. The onset age is younger than esophageal cancer, symptoms progress slowly, and the disease lasts longer. Among the benign esophageal tumors, the most common is leiomyoma, accounting for about 90%. In addition, there are polyps, lipomas, fibrolipomas, papilloma, etc. that originate from the mucosa and submucosa. So can benign esophageal cancer be cured? If the correct treatment is adopted, it is possible to cure it.

1. Surgical treatment: Surgical treatment is usually the first choice for the treatment of esophageal cancer. The scope of surgical resection includes the tumor and lymph nodes. After the completion of surgical treatment of esophageal cancer, adjuvant treatment is performed according to the patient's physical condition, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy or autologous immune cell therapy.
2. Autologous immune cell therapy: This is often used as the most effective treatment for esophageal cancer. It kills tumor cells by increasing the activity of autoimmune cells and fully mobilizing the body's immune response through artificial intervention.
3. Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy includes preoperative chemotherapy and postoperative chemotherapy, which is also a treatment method for esophageal cancer. Generally, chemotherapy is usually carried out simultaneously with radiotherapy. The combined use of chemotherapy and radiotherapy is more effective than chemotherapy alone, which can prevent postoperative recurrence and metastasis, and has significant short-term efficacy.
4. Multi-faceted treatment: Multi-faceted treatment can improve the overall survival rate of patients with esophageal cancer. Preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy can both improve the survival rate of patients with esophageal cancer.
