Old lesions in both lungs

Old lesions in both lungs

In clinical practice, we see many patients asking doctors what diseases the chronic lesions of both lungs are. Chronic lesions of both lungs refer to lung calcification or fibrous changes caused by lung diseases. This generally does not cause bad effects on the body, but it is recommended to go to the hospital for regular check-ups. If there is no obvious change after multiple check-ups, it is more likely to be benign. This article introduces the relevant content. If you are interested, let’s take a look.

At this time, relevant examinations should be actively completed to clarify the diagnosis. If active pulmonary tuberculosis is diagnosed, active anti-tuberculosis treatment is required. If lung malignancy is diagnosed, surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and target cell drug therapy need to be considered. Different situations require different treatments.

Common symptoms

Old lung lesions

1. The heart should be boot-shaped, with a rounded and winged apex, not as flat as the severe type. The heart is not obviously enlarged; it may be slightly or moderately enlarged or be normal. The enlargement mainly occurs in the right ventricle, with a small number of right atria also enlarged.

2. Pulmonary artery segment and pulmonary veins: The concavity of the pulmonary artery segment is not as obvious as in severe cases, and it may be straight or slightly raised. The hilum of the lung is still small, and the vascular pattern in the lung field is fibrous.

3. Upper mediastinal shadows and arteries: They are widened and enlarged in the same way as the severe type, and may have space-occupying large arteries.

Old macular degeneration

It is currently believed that it is caused by the growth of new blood vessels under the retina in the macula, which originates from the choroid. The pathological changes are granulomatous inflammation. There are two common types of macular degeneration. One is dry macular degeneration, which accounts for 90% of the total incidence. It is an aging of the macula that occurs with age. No fundus bleeding or exudation will occur. The disease progresses slowly, vision gradually decreases, and the harm is relatively small. The most common symptoms are: blurred vision, need for more lighting to distinguish details, and difficulty recognizing faces at a distance. As dry macular degeneration progresses, central vision may become blurred, and over time this area may grow larger and darker, leading to loss of central vision.

The other type is wet macular degeneration, which accounts for 10% of the total incidence. It is caused by abnormal blood vessel growth under the retina, rupture and bleed of new blood vessels, and cause scar tissue growth, which leads to a sudden decrease in vision. It can quickly and seriously affect the patient's central vision and even cause loss of central vision. The main symptoms of wet macular degeneration are: rapid weakening of central vision, distorted vision, curved words on paper, and dark shadows or blurred areas in the center of vision.

Treatment of macular degeneration: Drug treatment is ineffective for the symptoms of macular degeneration, and laser photocoagulation is currently an effective method for treating macular degeneration. In the active stage, lesions located outside the central 1/4PD of the macula can be treated with laser.
