What to do if a pregnant woman has a teratoma

What should I do if a pregnant woman has a teratoma? Pregnancy is generally a happy thing for women. Pregnancy allows both husband and wife to prepare for another role: parents. But what should I do if I find another disease after pregnancy, especially if a woman has a teratoma. If the disease is not treated in time, it will bring more impacts.

Pregnancy refers to the presence of one or more fetuses or embryos in a female mammal (including humans). Human pregnancy is the best studied of mammals. Human pregnancy lasts about 40 weeks from the last menstrual period to birth (38 weeks from ovulation).

During the development of human embryos, there is a type of pluripotent cell with multipotential development potential. Under normal embryonic development, it develops and differentiates into mature cells of each germ layer. If some pluripotent cells separate or fall off from the whole at different embryonic stages, causing cell genes to mutate and differentiation to be abnormal, embryo abnormalities may occur.

If the teratoma is smaller than 5CM, you can temporarily ignore it and remove it when giving birth. However, when doing B-ultrasound, you should pay attention to observe whether the tumor is likely to grow in a short period of time. If possible, it is recommended that you do a tumor marker test to determine whether the tumor is benign or malignant. Generally, 90% of teratomas are benign. If it is found to be malignant, it is recommended that you terminate the pregnancy and undergo surgery first. After all, your own life is the most important.

Ovarian teratoma is a benign ovarian tumor that is prone to torsion. Judging from the size, there are surgical indications, and laparoscopic cyst removal can be selected. If torsion does not occur, it usually has no effect on the pregnant woman and the fetus. However, once acute cyst torsion occurs, emergency surgery is required. If the surgery is not timely, it may cause necrosis of the affected ovary and the ovary cannot be preserved. In addition, the possible harm of surgery to the fetus is miscarriage.

Many drugs can cause harm to the fetus and even pregnant women. Therefore, before taking any medicine, you should consult a doctor and confirm whether you are pregnant. If you blindly abuse drugs, it will not only affect the growth of the child, but also cause more health damage. Therefore, you need to follow the doctor's advice when treating the disease to avoid more harm and impact.
