According to investigations and studies, although the incidence of ovarian tumors ranks third among female malignant tumors, second only to cervical cancer and endometrial cancer, it has the highest mortality rate. Experts say that they have seen more cases of ovarian tumors than endometrial cancer in clinical practice. It is more common in women of childbearing age. After discovery, about 2/3 of the patients are already in the late stage, and it costs at least 200,000 to 300,000 yuan to maintain this short life. At present, the international medical community is still unclear about the cause of this disease. It is only speculated that it may be related to food, environmental factors and genetics. Infertile or non-pregnant women have a higher chance of developing the disease. Professor Wang called for efforts in the following four aspects to prevent ovarian tumors in women of childbearing age: The first is early education. Currently, the media has a lot of popular science education on cervical cancer (its early symptoms are easy to detect). At the same time, we should also increase publicity on ovarian tumors to let people deepen their understanding and strengthen prevention; we should encourage women to do abdominal B-ultrasound and vaginal ultrasound screening during their annual physical examinations to detect clues of ovarian tumors as early as possible. Second, do not mistake these symptoms for general gynecological diseases. For example, abdominal distension, back pain, fatigue, increased waist circumference, frequent urination, menstrual changes (such as irregular menstruation or increased menstrual flow), changes in bowel habits (including diarrhea or constipation), etc. Especially if the first four phenomena often occur, you must pay attention to them and go to the hospital for examination to confirm the cause. It should be noted that ovarian tumors have no specific symptoms, so patients are rarely alert, and even doctors sometimes misdiagnose them as common gynecological diseases. This is why most ovarian tumors are diagnosed in the late stage. Therefore, when gynecologists see such patients, in addition to checking for some common gynecological diseases, they must also guard against ovarian tumors, especially when small masses are found in the patient's pelvic cavity. Third, we must attach importance to examination. Ovarian tumors cannot be found in general physical examinations, and sometimes abdominal ultrasound, vaginal ultrasound and CT scans are difficult to confirm. Only by adding a tumor marker CA125 test can the diagnosis be more accurate. Early detection and early treatment have a very impressive survival rate. Fourth, the diet should be balanced. Eat less high-cholesterol and high-fat foods, and eat more foods rich in beta-carotene. The World Health Organization encourages women to take birth control pills to prevent pregnancy, so as to inhibit ovarian ovulation and reduce the incidence rate. It is understood that women who have taken birth control pills for five years have more than half the chance of developing ovarian tumors in the next 10 years. |
