What are the symptoms of thyroid cancer

What are the symptoms of thyroid cancer? With the development of medical technology, there have been great breakthroughs in the treatment of various diseases, especially cancer. Curing various cancers is no longer impossible, but there is no way to guarantee a 100% cure. So once you have thyroid cancer, the harm of cancer is inevitable. So, what are the symptoms of thyroid cancer?

Main symptoms of thyroid cancer

1. In the early stage, patients have symptoms of neck swelling and local tumors, and the surface of the tumor is uneven, fixed and hard. As the disease progresses, the tumor will grow larger and compress the trachea, causing difficulty breathing, hoarseness, a sense of obstruction when swallowing, or swelling of nearby lymph glands. This is one of the main symptoms of thyroid cancer.

2. Papillary carcinoma grows the slowest. Clinically, except for the palpation of thyroid nodules and local lymphadenopathy, other symptoms are rare. When the tumor is small and located deep in the thyroid gland, it is generally difficult to detect. Follicular cell carcinoma manifests as nodular thyroid swelling, which is often seen as a single nodule. It is hard as a stone and can involve the entire lobe of the thyroid gland. In the later stage, erosion of adjacent tissues, pain, and distant metastasis occur. Follicular cell carcinoma and its metastatic lesions have the function of iodine uptake and can occasionally cause hyperthyroidism.

3. Undifferentiated cancer manifests as enlarged and painful thyroid tumors. It erodes adjacent tissues and may cause hoarseness, respiratory distress and dysphagia. The tumors are often tender, hard as stone, adherent and fixed to surrounding tissues, with enlarged local lymph nodes and distant metastasis.

The above is an introduction to the main symptoms of thyroid cancer. Do you have some understanding of the main symptoms of thyroid cancer? I hope that patients can maintain a good attitude, listen to the doctor's advice, actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment, and believe that they will be able to recover.
