Dietary issues that patients with hamartoma must know

Hamartoma is a malignant disease that is extremely harmful to the body's organs. Once the symptoms are found, you must actively seek medical treatment. During the treatment process, in order to allow hamartoma patients to recover as soon as possible, it is recommended that you must do a good job of diet adjustment, so that you can get better. Here I will introduce to you the dietary issues that hamartoma patients must know.

1. Rest and activity: Generally, patients should be placed in a semi-recumbent position 6 hours after total nephrectomy and their blood pressure should be stable. After 2-3 days, they should gradually start to move around. For patients who have undergone renal repair, partial nephrectomy or pyelotomy, the bed rest time should be extended for more than 1 week, and activities should be reduced to prevent secondary bleeding. Patients with renal hamartoma should avoid getting out of bed too early to avoid bleeding at the surgical site.

2. Diet care: Fasting after surgery. Start eating gradually after intestinal motility is restored. Drink more water and eat less food that causes flatulence. If abdominal distension occurs in patients with renal hamartoma, treat the symptoms according to the doctor's orders.

3. Closely observe T, P, R, and BP, pay attention to changes in bleeding in the kidneys and wounds, observe the amount and properties of the drainage fluid, and notify the doctor immediately if bleeding occurs after renal hamartoma surgery and actively cooperate with rescue efforts.

4. Limit salt intake, especially for patients with renal hamartoma and renal insufficiency, to no more than 5 grams per day. Eat less pickles, kimchi, pickled mustard tubers, salted bread, fried dough sticks, seaweed, rapeseed, spinach, fennel, celery, day lily, radish, etc. Because these foods contain high sodium content per 100 grams. Eating more of these foods means increasing the amount of salt.

5. Eat more fresh vegetables, fruits, whole-wheat products and beans. If the renal function of patients with renal hamartoma is normal, they should eat more green vegetables and fruits to provide adequate vitamins. If the patient already has renal insufficiency, especially when the daily urine volume is less than 500 ml, vegetables and fruits should be eaten selectively. Because vegetables and fruits are generally rich in potassium, and patients with oliguria due to renal disease have increased potassium levels in their serum. Among them, fruits with higher potassium content include watermelon, banana, pineapple, mango, jujube, cantaloupe, etc.; vegetables with higher potassium content include amaranth, spinach, celery, carrots, bamboo shoots, potatoes, etc.

In addition to adjusting their diet, patients with hamartomas also need to pay attention to avoiding wound infections. This will not only allow them to recover in time, but also save a lot of anti-inflammatory costs, killing two birds with one stone.
