How terrible is the harm of thyroid cancer

Due to the irregularity, high pressure and fast pace of modern life, the high incidence of cancer has become commonplace, and thyroid cancer is one of them. So how terrible are the hazards of thyroid cancer? Next, we will explain its symptoms in detail.

Most thyroid cancer patients present with painless lumps at the beginning of the disease. As the disease progresses, the patient gradually feels pain. The pain symptoms of thyroid cancer vary greatly due to different pathological classifications. Papillary adenocarcinoma and follicular carcinoma grow slowly and are less malignant. They metastasize later, so they present with painless lumps in the early and middle stages. In the late stage, pain occurs due to the infiltration of the tumor into surrounding tissues. Undifferentiated carcinoma is highly malignant and grows rapidly. The lumps often increase in size and grow diffusely in the vincristine. There are persistent or intermittent distending pain and dull pain. The painful area refuses to be pressed. The patient often affects his diet and sleep due to the pain.

Papillary adenocarcinoma and follicular carcinoma have a long course and develop slowly. In the early stage, there are often no obvious discomfort symptoms. In the late stage, due to the compression and infiltration of the tumor, some patients experience hoarseness and difficulty breathing. About 30% of patients with medullary carcinoma develop intractable diarrhea, which is often watery diarrhea, several to more than ten times a day, accompanied by facial flushing. After the cancer is removed, the diarrhea disappears, but after recurrence or metastasis, diarrhea reappears. Undifferentiated carcinoma, due to its high malignancy and rapid development, forms a huge diffuse bilateral thyroid mass and widely invades adjacent tissues. Therefore, patients are often accompanied by severe dyspnea, dysphagia and hoarseness.

Thyroid cancer endangers human health and life, and there are a series of complications, mainly manifested in the rapid enlargement of the tumor, compression of the trachea, infiltration of the esophagus and recurrent laryngeal nerve, resulting in complications such as difficulty breathing, hoarseness, and a sense of obstruction when swallowing food; in severe cases, lung metastasis and bone metastasis may also occur.

No matter what disease it is, especially cancer, it will be a direct threat to life. We should first understand our own bodies and do regular self-examination and identification so as to discover and seek medical treatment in time. Only in this way can we nip the disease in the bud while it can still be controlled and treated.
