Introduction to what is fibroid

Fibroids are common in life. When this symptom appears, it is necessary to seek timely treatment. Often, some patients with fibroids do not seek timely treatment, thinking that it will not pose a threat to the body. If they do not seek treatment for a long time, it will cause harm to their health. Let us understand what fibroids are?

Fibroids are a relatively common benign tumor of well-differentiated fibrous connective tissue. They are more common in young people, solitary, mostly millimeters to several centimeters, and painless. They are often discovered accidentally, are hard, have clear boundaries, are movable, and grow slowly. They can occur in subcutaneous tissues of various parts of the body. For example, tumors that grow in the breasts of young women and are mainly glandular are called fibroadenomas, and tumors that grow in muscles with muscle tissue are called fibromyomas. When they appear multiple times, they are called tumor-like lesions, which are called fibromatosis. For example, congenital systemic fibromatosis is "benign" in morphology, and new lesions that appear in important organs can also lead to death. If they grow in the compressed area of the sacrum, they will grow rapidly, erode, ulcerate, bleed, and become malignant. Desmoplastic fibroids (ligament-like tumors) that grow in the rectus abdominis of the abdominal wall, neck, trunk, and limbs are more common in women. If they are not radically removed, they are very likely to recur, but they do not metastasize, so they are called borderline tumors.

Precautions

Patients with fibroids should pay attention to eating in moderation, avoid eating raw and cold food, eat greasy food, avoid spicy food, and quit smoking and drinking.
