Are these two types of advanced symptoms of lung cancer bone metastasis serious?

In my country, the incidence of lung cancer ranks first, and the mortality rate is also relatively high. The pathological types of lung cancer can be divided into squamous cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, carcinoid, etc. There are many treatments for lung cancer, including surgical resection, targeted therapy, systemic chemotherapy, local radiotherapy, immunotherapy, etc. So what are the symptoms of advanced bone metastasis of lung cancer?

1. Symptoms of bone metastasis: First of all, we need to look at the location of bone metastasis. Lung cancer bone metastasis is generally easy to metastasize to the spine, such as the cervical spine, thoracic spine, lumbar spine, ribs and skull. The symptoms of metastasis to the spine are mainly pain and numbness of the lower limbs. In severe cases, pathological fractures may occur, leading to paraplegia. If it is a bone metastasis of the skull, if the metastasis continues to grow, it may compress the normal meninges or brain parenchyma, which causes increased intracranial pressure and manifests as dizziness, headache, nausea and vomiting, blurred vision, limb movement disorders, etc.

2. As for lung symptoms, it mainly depends on the location of the tumor and whether it compresses the normal trachea. It may cause coughing, expectoration, chest tightness, wheezing, hemoptysis, dyspnea, fever, etc. Generally, for patients with advanced lung cancer, the lung tumors are relatively large. However, there are very few patients who have multiple metastases even when the lung tumors are relatively small. Therefore, there may be no obvious symptoms in the lungs of patients with advanced lung cancer bone metastasis.

In short, for patients with lung cancer bone metastasis, it is first necessary to determine whether there are obvious local symptoms. Then, based on the local symptoms, choose local radiotherapy or systemic chemotherapy. At the same time, patients are advised to pay attention to rest and avoid strenuous activities. Once a pathological fracture occurs, it is very difficult to heal, affecting the patient's quality of life.
