Ovarian tumor symptoms, common clinical symptoms of ovarian tumors

When an ovarian tumor occurs, there will be symptoms such as abdominal pain, increased waist circumference, menstrual disorders, gastrointestinal discomfort, and weight loss. Most ovarian tumors are benign lesions, but they may also become malignant. If the tumor has become malignant, symptoms such as vaginal bleeding, severe weight loss, and edema of the perineum and lower limbs will appear after menopause.

Ovarian tumors are a common type of gynecological tumor that can occur in women of any age. This disease is mostly benign, but it can also become malignant, so understanding the symptoms of ovarian tumors and treating them as soon as possible when abnormalities are found can reduce the chance of malignant transformation. So, what are the specific symptoms of ovarian tumors?
1. Abdominal pain
This is a common symptom of ovarian tumors. There may be no obvious discomfort in the early stage of the disease. Patients often seek medical treatment due to sudden abdominal pain, and then they find that they have ovarian tumors. If the tumor is large, its own weight and changes in body position may cause the tumor to involve adjacent tissues, causing abdominal pain. During strenuous exercise, it may twist or rupture, which will cause severe pain, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and even shock.
2. Increased abdominal circumference
As the tumor grows, the abdomen will become thicker. However, since there are no obvious discomfort symptoms in the early stages of the disease, many patients will ignore it and only feel that their clothes have become a little tight and they seem to have gained weight.
3. Menstrual disorders
Tumors on the ovaries will affect the function of the ovaries, so menstrual disorders often occur after the disease, such as oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea, etc., which can affect normal conception in severe cases. If vaginal bleeding occurs after menopause, be alert to cancer and go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.
4. Gastrointestinal discomfort
As the tumor grows, it will compress and squeeze the surrounding ligaments. Coupled with the stimulation of ascites, gastrointestinal discomfort symptoms such as loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting will appear. Especially when such symptoms occur during menopause, it is best to seek medical attention promptly.
5. Weight loss
After suffering from ovarian tumor, if accompanied by loss of appetite, eating less, and insufficient nutrition intake, the body will gradually lose weight. Especially after the tumor becomes cancerous, the internal consumption is greater, and the body loses weight very quickly.
6. Edema
Ovarian cysts are accompanied by edema in the vulva and lower limbs, which may be a sign of cancer. It is best to have a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis in time. As the tumor grows, the pelvic veins are compressed, which affects blood circulation and lymphatic return, often causing edema in the vulva and lower limbs.
