Long-term observations show that chronic hepatitis B patients can develop into liver cirrhosis, and 20% can develop into liver cancer. The time varies, ranging from ten to twenty years. Therefore, the probability of hepatitis B patients developing liver cancer is much higher than that of normal people. Prevention can be carried out in the following aspects:

First, for those with hepatitis B who are HBVDNA positive and have abnormal liver function, antiviral treatment is recommended. Adherence to antiviral treatment can continuously suppress HBVDNA levels and improve liver biopsy histology, thereby preventing the progression of fibrosis by improving inflammatory necrosis. Treatment requires being conducted under the guidance of a doctor and medication should not be stopped at will.

Second, it can prevent liver cell necrosis, promote liver cell repair, and improve liver function. Hospitalization is recommended for those with obvious liver damage.

Third, rest and nutrition are very important. It is advisable to rest in bed during the active period of liver disease. After the condition improves, gradually increase the amount of activity to combine work and rest. Those with a history of drinking must avoid alcohol. It is well known that alcohol can aggravate hepatitis.

Fourth, avoid using drugs that are harmful to the liver, and eat a diet high in protein, fiber, vitamins, and easily digestible foods, eat more vegetables, and a moderate amount of carbohydrates and fats.

Fifth, regular check-ups are critical. Chronic hepatitis B patients should go to the hospital for regular check-ups. Regardless of whether their liver function is normal, they should undergo regular B-ultrasound dynamic observations and a series of serum tests in order to understand the progression of the disease and adjust treatment at any time.
