What are the criteria for diagnosing liver cancer? The diagnosis of liver cancer must follow three major criteria

Liver cancer is a very common disease. The threat of this disease cannot be ignored. Many people have lost their precious lives due to the disease. To treat liver cancer, patients should first make a correct diagnosis and undergo professional examinations to ensure the diagnosis of the disease.

1. If there is no other evidence of liver cancer, the alpha-fetoprotein convection method is positive or the radioimmunoassay is ≥500 micrograms/liter for more than one month, or the radioimmunoassay is ≥200 micrograms/liter for more than two months, and pregnancy, active liver disease (such as abnormalities of alanine, bilirubin, prothrombin time, etc.), and gonadal embryonal tumors can be ruled out. This is also a very important one in the diagnostic criteria for liver cancer.

2. Patients with clinical manifestations of liver cancer, plus three positive results in radionuclide scanning, B-ultrasound, CT, hepatic artery angiography, X-ray diaphragmatic sign, and enzyme examination (such as alkaline phosphatase and γ-glutamyl transpeptidase) to exclude secondary liver cancer, which is also one aspect of the diagnostic criteria for liver cancer.

3. In the diagnostic criteria for liver cancer, there are clinical manifestations of liver cancer, confirmed distant metastases (such as lungs, bones, supraclavicular lymph nodes, etc.) or cancer cells found in bloody ascites visible to the naked eye. And secondary liver cancer can be ruled out. It should be pointed out that even if the alpha-fetoprotein-negative patient meets the above clinical liver cancer diagnostic criteria, the diagnostic accuracy is still difficult to exceed 90%.

The diagnostic criteria for liver cancer require that AFp be positive and false positives be excluded, and that space-occupying lesions have the characteristics of liver cancer, which should be accurate. As a diagnostic criterion for liver cancer, the number of AFp-negative cases has been increasing in clinical work in recent years, and this item is very necessary. Since there is no such a strong diagnostic criterion for liver cancer as AFp positivity, more evidence should be sought in imaging diagnosis. Or other liver cancer markers can be added as a basis for diagnosis, but the specificity of other liver cancer markers is not as good as AFp, so at least two more reliable markers are required to be positive. The purpose is naturally to increase the reliability of diagnosis, which is quite important in the diagnostic criteria for liver cancer.

There are many treatments for liver cancer. Although this disease is a relatively common disease, many people do not know much about it. After contracting the disease, patients must actively seek treatment and not miss the best treatment time in order to effectively treat the disease.
