Should uterine cancer be treated surgically? What are the symptoms of uterine cancer?

Uterine cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the cervical canal and uterine vagina. If it is not effectively treated, the cancer cells will metastasize to nearby tissues and organs, making treatment more difficult. There are no obvious symptoms in the early stages of uterine cancer. When the secretions increase and the pain persists, it has already developed to the middle and late stages, making treatment more difficult. Let's learn about the symptoms of uterine cancer.

What are the symptoms of uterine cancer?

1. Persistent pain

In the late stage of uterine cancer, persistent pain in the lower abdomen, legs, and lumbosacral region will occur. Cancer cells will continue to extend and invade the pelvic wall, compressing the peripheral nerves and causing systemic pain. If the ureter is compressed, it will cause ureteral stenosis, causing hydronephrosis, causing pain on one side of the waist, and even developing into renal failure or uremia. If the lymphatic system is invaded by cancer cells, it can block the lymphatic vessels, hindering the return of blood and lymph, causing pain and swelling in the lower body.

2. Irregular bleeding and increased secretions

When uterine cancer develops to the late stage, the vagina will bleed irregularly, with varying degrees of bleeding. When the disease develops to a certain extent, it will cause repeated heavy bleeding from the vagina, causing hemorrhagic shock or anemia. As the disease progresses, cancer cells will grow rapidly, and cancer cell infection and necrosis will cause increased vaginal discharge, which may contain blood or appear like rice washing water, and be accompanied by a foul odor.

3. Systemic symptoms

When cancer cells develop to the late stage, necrotic tissue is prone to infection, which can cause persistent high fever, with the body temperature above 38.5 degrees Celsius. In addition, due to heavy bleeding and consumption by cancer cells, the body will become emaciated and anemic.

How to treat uterine cancer?

1. Surgical treatment

Early uterine cancer can be cured by surgery, timely removal of the uterus, and combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. If uterine cancer metastasizes to the lymph nodes, radiotherapy must be performed, but radioactive drugs will bring different degrees of side effects to the body, such as hair loss, body edema, loss of appetite and weight loss.

2. Hormones and chemotherapy

Progesterone can directly transform abnormal hyperplastic endometrium into atrophic endometrium, shrinking or reversing cancer cells. Progesterone treatment has a certain effect when uterine cancer reaches the late stage. However, it is not suitable for recurrent or persistent lesions in the pelvic cavity.

Kind tips

In the late stage of uterine cancer, Chinese medicine can be used reasonably under the guidance of a doctor to reduce the side effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, improve the quality of life, control the spread of cancer cells, and prolong survival. Do a good job of nursing after surgery and avoid improper sexual life. Face the disease correctly, strictly follow the doctor's instructions, and go to the hospital for regular checkups to detect the spread of cancer cells in time.
