What are the classifications of prostate cancer

Prostate cancer is a relatively common type of cancer, and there are different types of prostate cancer, but most people don't know much about the classification of prostate cancer. Only by knowing which type of prostate cancer you have can you better treat it. So, let's introduce the classifications of prostate cancer.

What are the categories of malignant tumors of the prostate? The details are as follows:

(I) Prostatic sarcoma: This disease accounts for less than 0.1% of prostatic malignancies. It can occur at any age, 30% occur under 10 years old, and 75% occur under 40 years old.

(1) Rhabdomyosarcoma: It is the most common malignant tumor in children and can be divided into three categories

① Embryonic rhabdomyosarcoma: It is the most common type. Rhabdomyoblasts are scattered. Poorly differentiated areas are composed of small, round or oval cells with darkly stained nuclei; the cytoplasm is small and the boundaries are unclear; well-differentiated areas may have rhabdomyoblasts with red stained cytoplasm, and some cytoplasms have horizontal stripes; some cases may have immature cartilage or bone tissue.

② Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma: less common, poorly differentiated round or oval tumor cells arranged in irregular alveolar structures with clear cell boundaries.

③ Pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma: rare, cells have obvious atypia, megakaryotic tumor cells can be seen, some cells have red cytoplasm and striated muscles are formed.

(2) Leiomyosarcoma: It accounts for 25% of prostate sarcomas. The cells are spindle-shaped and arranged in a woven pattern. The nuclei are spindle-shaped and darkly stained, and the nuclear division images are easily visible. The cytoplasm is red-stained with unclear boundaries. Immunohistochemical staining of binding protein and actin is positive.

(3) Stromal sarcoma: undifferentiated, highly malignant spindle cell tumor, rare.

(ii) Malignant fibroblastoma: Malignant fibroblastoma is very rare, with only 3 cases reported in the world so far.

(III) Carcinosarcoma: Carcinosarcoma can be diagnosed only when there are clear tissue components of cancer and sarcoma. Cartilage and bone tissue are often seen in sarcoma tissue.

The above classifications of prostate cancer have been introduced in detail. The occurrence of prostate cancer does have a very serious impact on the patient's health. Therefore, once you have prostate cancer, you should go to the hospital for an examination. After the condition is confirmed, you can take scientific and reasonable treatment methods.
