Do you know the stages of prostate cancer?

The currently commonly used prostate cancer staging method is the TNM (T: tumor; N: lymph node; M: metastasis) staging method, which is used to guide treatment and judge prognosis. The higher the stage, the worse the prognosis.

The specific stages are as follows:

T1 refers to clinically occult tumors that cannot be palpated or detected by imaging.

T1a refers to incidental tumors that account for less than 5% of the prostate tissue;

T1b refers to incidental tumors that are larger than 5% of the prostate tissue;

T1c refers to tumors found by puncture biopsy;

T2 means the tumor is confined to the prostate;

T2a The tumor involves ≤1/2 of a single lobe of the prostate;

T2b: The tumor involves more than 1/2 of a single lobe of the prostate, but is limited to that lobe;

T2c tumor involves both lobes of the prostate;

T3 tumor breaks through the prostate capsule;

T3a The tumor invades outside the capsule;

T3b The tumor invades one or both seminal vesicles;

T4 The tumor is fixed or invades adjacent tissues and organs, such as the bladder neck, external urethral sphincter, rectum, levator ani muscles, and pelvic wall.

Nx: regional lymph nodes cannot be evaluated;

N0: no lymph node metastasis;

N1: regional lymph node metastasis;

Mx: Distant metastasis cannot be assessed; . .

M0: no distant metastasis;

M1: distant metastasis;

M1a has lymph node metastasis other than regional lymph nodes;

M1b bone metastasis;

M1c Metastasis to other tissues and organs.
