Does Rh positive blood type affect fertility?

Does Rh positive blood type affect fertility?

There are many types of blood types, such as type A, type B, and type AB. Will Rh positive blood type cause harm to the body? In fact, Rh blood type is divided into positive and negative. Positive belongs to the normal range, while negative is the so-called panda blood, which is relatively rare. However, the effects of blood type Rh on women and men are different. It generally has a great impact on women's fertility. So how to prevent and treat it?

Female Rh negative

After an Rh-negative mother becomes pregnant, the mother's blood and the child's blood are separated by a membrane in the fetal blood, which allows the exchange of nutrients, metabolites and oxygen. But blood does not circulate directly, only under certain reasons such as trauma, inflammation, etc.

The fetus's blood cells can flow into the mother's body. If the blood type the fetus obtains from the father is incompatible with the mother's, then as long as the fetus's red blood cells enter the mother's body, the antigens on its red blood cells can stimulate the mother to produce corresponding antibodies. This antibody then enters the fetus's blood circulation through the placenta and reacts with the antigens on the child's red blood cells, resulting in an antigen-antibody reaction that destroys and dissolves a large number of red blood cells, causing anemia. At the same time, a large amount of bilirubin is produced, resulting in jaundice.

If an Rh-negative woman does not receive a transfusion of RH-positive blood, she can still give birth to her first child. This is because the amount of antibodies produced in the pregnant woman's body during the first pregnancy is small and not enough to cause disease in the fetus. If the first baby is Rh positive, then you will not be able to have children again in the future.

Males are RH negative

If the male is RH negative, he should not have a second child after having an RH positive child (generally speaking, Rh hemolysis symptoms appear later and are more severe than ABO hemolysis symptoms. Rh hemolysis usually occurs in the second pregnancy, while ABO hemolysis can occur in the first pregnancy. Neonatal hemolytic disease is closely related to genetic factors, so the fetus of the next pregnancy is more likely to develop the disease and the symptoms are more severe.). However, men will not lose their fertility after receiving Rh-positive blood.
