After four courses of chemotherapy for lung cancer, why does my nose keep bleeding?

Lung cancer patients who have nasal bleeding after four courses of chemotherapy may be caused by non-disease factors such as drug factors and tumor recurrence. It may also be caused by worsening of the disease, such as lung infection, brain metastasis, etc.

1. Non-disease factors

1. Drug factors: If cisplatin injection, carboplatin injection and other chemotherapy drugs that are harmful to the body are used during chemotherapy, it may damage the patient's bone marrow hematopoietic function, leading to thrombocytopenia, and then cause rupture of nasal mucosal capillaries and bleeding;

2. Tumor recurrence: If the lung cancer patient has gene mutations or other conditions, after four courses of chemotherapy, it may not be possible to kill all the cancer cells in the body. Some cancer cells will remain and spread and metastasize. At this time, it may manifest as the growth of new organisms in the nasal cavity, accompanied by symptoms such as bleeding.

2. Disease Factors

1. Lung infection: If lung cancer patients do not take good care of their bodies during chemotherapy, or do not keep warm after chemotherapy, they are easily attacked by bacteria or viruses, which can induce respiratory inflammation such as pneumonia or bronchitis. At this time, the capillaries in the nasal cavity will become congested and dilated due to inflammatory stimulation, and may even rupture and bleed.

2. Brain metastasis: When lung cancer develops to the late stage, cancer cells will metastasize to distant parts of the body, the most common of which is metastasis to the brain. At this time, brain metastases will form, which will compress the surrounding tissues and affect normal blood circulation and nerve conduction. In severe cases, it will lead to increased intracranial pressure, and the above symptoms may also appear at this time.

In addition to the relatively common reasons mentioned above, other conditions may also be caused, such as gastrointestinal ulcers, coagulation disorders, etc. It is recommended that family members take the patient to the hospital for treatment in time to avoid delaying the disease.
