What to do if gastric cancer has spread to the late stage and the liver has a fever

The presence of liver metastasis in patients with advanced gastric cancer indicates that the disease has progressed to stage III or IV. At this time, the patient's treatment is mainly palliative chemotherapy, and it is necessary to evaluate whether targeted drug therapy can be performed based on tumor markers and imaging examinations.

1. General treatment: If the fever is not high, below 38°C, physical cooling methods can be used to relieve symptoms, such as warm water bathing or using a fever-reducing patch on the forehead; if the body temperature exceeds 38.5°C, you need to take ibuprofen sustained-release capsules, acetaminophen tablets and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as prescribed by the doctor to control the temperature;

2. Supportive treatment: For patients with obvious pain, analgesic treatment is given, including oral diclofenac sodium enteric-coated tablets, tramadol hydrochloride sustained-release tablets, and aspirin enteric-coated tablets. Intramuscular injection of morphine injection can also be considered for sedation and analgesia. Nutrients and water should also be supplemented. If necessary, amino acid glucose solution and fat emulsion should be intravenously infused to promote the body's restoration of energy metabolism balance.

3. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy: Under the guidance of a doctor, choose an appropriate plan for whole-body radiation exposure to inhibit the growth and reproduction of the primary lesion and distant organs and alleviate clinical symptoms. Commonly used chemical drugs include cisplatin injection, paclitaxel injection, capecitabine tablets, etc., but the specific dosage must be strictly followed according to the doctor's instructions, and the drug should not be stopped or reduced without authorization;

4. Other methods: You can also use traditional Chinese medicine to help regulate your body, which will help improve your physical condition and quality of life. At the same time, you should pay attention to eating a light and easy-to-digest diet and avoid eating spicy and irritating foods to avoid aggravating your discomfort. In addition, you should also maintain a good attitude, actively cooperate with treatment, and build confidence in overcoming the disease.
