Should I care about thyroid cancer? What is the treatment for thyroid cancer?

Thyroid cancer is a malignant tumor that originates from the thyroid follicular epithelium or parafollicular cells. Once a patient is diagnosed with thyroid cancer, it is recommended that standardized treatment be carried out in a timely manner. Patients are not recommended to blindly take medication to avoid affecting the judgment of the condition. For patients with confirmed thyroid cancer, it is recommended that appropriate treatment be carried out under the guidance of a doctor, depending on the situation. If it is early thyroid cancer, surgical resection can be performed, and for patients with mid- to late-stage thyroid cancer, comprehensive treatments such as corresponding radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and endocrine therapy can be adopted.

1. Early thyroid cancer:

Early thyroid cancer is mainly treated with surgical resection, such as radical thyroidectomy, and generally does not require the use of radionuclide therapy, endocrine therapy, etc.

2. Advanced Thyroid Cancer:

1. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy: Patients with advanced thyroid cancer need to undergo radiotherapy after surgical resection to shrink the tumor, and then undergo surgical resection;

2. Endocrine therapy: The thyroid tissue removed by surgery still needs to undergo endocrine therapy, which mainly includes inhibiting the secretion of TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) and stimulating targeted therapy of thyroid cells. Commonly used drugs are levothyroxine sodium tablets, etc., which need to be used under the guidance of a doctor according to the specific situation of the patient;

3. Radionuclide therapy: The use of radionuclide iodine-131 can remove residual thyroid tissue and metastatic lymph nodes, reduce the possibility of recurrence, and has a good therapeutic effect;

4. Others: For patients with advanced thyroid cancer, targeted drugs such as sorafenib can be used for treatment according to specific conditions. For patients with bone metastasis, radiotherapy can be used to relieve pain symptoms.

Don't be too nervous if you have thyroid cancer. Most thyroid cancer patients can get a good prognosis. It is recommended to maintain a good attitude and actively cooperate with the doctor for relevant treatment.
