What are the early symptoms of lung cancer in children

The chance of children developing lung cancer is relatively low, but if not treated in time, it may cause serious damage to the body. If parents find that their children have respiratory symptoms such as coughing and sputum, or have symptoms such as difficulty breathing and fever in the early stages, they should consider lung cancer.

1. Respiratory manifestations

1. Irritating dry cough: Due to the invasion of surrounding normal cell tissue by cancerous tissue in the lungs, the influence of inflammatory factors and tumor growth may cause children to have persistent coughs, accompanied by symptoms of pain in the throat.

2. Coughing up blood: When cancerous tissue necroses, the sputum becomes thick and bloody. As the disease progresses, hemoptysis may occur, which is manifested as spitting out a lot of blood.

3. Shortness of breath or wheezing: This is mainly because the cancerous tissue will gradually increase in size and block part of the lung tissue, thus affecting the normal gas exchange function, and the symptoms are especially obvious after activities.

4. Chest pain: It is mainly related to the compression of the cancer and the infiltration of the surrounding nerve tissue, and is also accompanied by varying degrees of fever.

2. Other manifestations

If children suffer from diseases such as asthma and allergic rhinitis, they may also develop symptoms similar to lung cancer, such as recurrent wheezing and shortness of breath. It is recommended to make a differential diagnosis as early as possible.

For children diagnosed with lung cancer, they need to actively cooperate with doctors to remove the lesions through surgery. If necessary, they also need to follow the doctor's advice to choose radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other methods to control the progression of the disease.
